I did really like all the Benzak that I bought but I found out that they do tend to shrink quite a bit especially around the thighs and calves and that put the sizing and cut off for me a bit. I plan to try out there relaxed and straight cuts soon.

Interesting, Benzak use denim from Candiani (Italy) and Collect Mills (Japan)… so the same as many other makers, for example I have had Candiani in Hiut jeans before… Benzak cuts are quite slim, the 04 is better for me than the 01 now that I run and my legs are a bit bigger, but they shouldn’t behave any differently when washed

Definitely something from the old school, it was pointed out that Lee (and others) did this in the 50s when using wider looms.. wider looms helped keep cost down (I think)

Ah really, I had not seen this before, I will have a look at vintage Lee.. no shrink on these, they are sanforized
