The Zipper is high up so that the Soldier can sit comfortably while wearing his belts and equipment. And also not break the zipp while wearing equipment belts etc and bending over. It also aids movement. This is a coat to be worn during combat. The M65 also had a matching trousers that could be lined too like the jacket. Wearing both the zipper high up does not affect heat retention nor wind getting in. I wear both coat and trousers (woodland camo) lined during winter. Even on the coldest days it works perfectly and I'm often overheating. The odd button at the top is for a fur rimmed hood attachment more commonly seen on the fishtail Parka.

Im usually a 11.5 in most shoes and with danner boots im. When i baught a 11.5 in these boots they were way to big..i went down a half size to 11 and felt better, but i tried a 10.5 and those felt pretty good also..

I have pair in Black as well, I reccomend you immediately condition them (you should with all high quality boots) but especially in Black as they were designed to have the Black color scuff/flake off, but if you don’t condition the boot immediately, the scuffs will happen incredibly quickly. I mean not just wearing them, but they will scuff quickly if you don’t immediately use some type of conditioner (I use Mink Oil, best water repellant, but darkens brown boots dramatically) I literally had them get scuffed new, but without conditioning them just knocking up against other boots and the wall in the shoe rack. Yes, they are designed to wear in with the Black scuffing off, but treating them with mink oil, after I received dry with no conditioner applied at all,; it made a huge difference in how quickly the boot’s Black color scratched off to reveal the untanned leather underneath.

I snaffled these very one's for an outrageous price from the John Lewis site. I never considered the Oxfords but I really wanted a pair of RW in the Hawthorne but when they were going for under £150 it would of been rude not to.

very reminiscent of my old Filson bag. my only gripe is how dirty this tan color can get just from being out and about in the city so I'd go for one of the other colors.

Coincidently I just went to Mildblend in Chicago, to get a few pairs of jeans chainstitch hemmed. And saw they sold Bleu de Chauffe bags there along with some filson and master-piece. I had never heard of the brand until today, and now you are posting a video about it.

Thanks for the review. Have been trying to decide which boot to buy next: Tricker's Stow or Cheaney's Tweed.
@DevonReviewer13 күн бұрын
Simple answer.. always Trickers!
@georgejones148014 күн бұрын
Marks and Spencer once offered Cheaney Pennines boots under a ‘Best of British ‘ line. Two major problems with the boot are :- 1) it does not work if you have a high instep. The lacing will bow out in the middle but be close at the bottom. 2) The laces supplied are also too short. You will have to undo and replace the boot every time you take it off or put it back on. The lace holes are close together. While this looks nice in photos, it makes it cramped to lace in a conventional way. Army lacing pattern removes some of the clutter. Lock lacing rather than conventional laces make it easier to use this boot without spending a long time putting it on taking it off. A seven hole boot rather than a nine hole boot would be easier to handle.

Thank you for the review but there is no fitting information on these fabulous boots. Not to be rude but if you read the box label and Tricker’s website, it is clear that yours are C-Shade so an older thicker cattle and not calf, in middle shade from A (clear) to E (dark). Enjoy your boots for decades !

On my side should say I'm true to European size (11.5 - 45 EU) in quite all my Red Wing. Tried an 11 in some models / lasts and I'm hitting the toe box so true to European size is the case on my side. Also I've noticed that in some models the same size 11.5 in Iron Rangers for example the internal insole length varies from one leather to another of about 0.5 cm, which in fact offers you the possibility to kind of half size down. I've ordered a pair of those in 11 D and will see how they fit and if the rule of misfitting a half size down due to length variation works or not this time...!

Really liked the CCDs, tried a pair in the 200 loose fit. Fabric is beautiful. They fit smaller than the listed size, not sure what happened with your pair. If you dont skip leg day Oni may not be a great fit, its very different than a Momotaro 905 straight fit, or a Naked and Famous Strong Guy. Just check the sizing chart carefully before you order, and if the vendor doesn't list the back rise, just assume it's not enough to make up for a shorter front rise compared to the cuts I mentioned. For more normally sized folks, the CCDs in particular our sweet, if you're looking for a rare super slubby denim that isn't super heavy definitely check them out.
