I have recently started using Triangle on a Roll. I like this method when I need multiples of a color combination. If I need just a few, I use the two at a time, but instead of the 7/8 “ bigger, I round up to the full inch then trim down for accuracy. Thank you Kimberly and FQS Team for these very informative tutorials.

I really appreciate the tutorials on the half square trikes as well flying geese. I have a pattern that I am currently working on and for some reason the designer did not indicate to make HST blocks of flying geese block. Instead the pattern has you cut all the fabric in half. However I took your advice on one of your previous videos, and only cut enough fabric to make a couple of blocks but I stopped cutting after the squares I did not cut them diagonally. I realized that that it was HST and flying geese block two of my favorites blocks,. I watched this video and thought yes yes yes !! Thank you so much. The quilt is coming together and it will be gorgeous when completed I have not used the triangle paper, but I would like to try it some day, I would 3-4 would be my favorites many at one time and no waste perfect combination!

I like making 2 at a time, but I always cut the squares a bit bigger and trim down so they will be the exact size. I know it take a little more fabric, but I have tired other methods and I alway come back to this way of making half square triangles. Barb Drummond

8 at a time is my fave, but slightly oversized to trim down. Same with 2 at a time.. I would do 3" and trim, never 2 7/8.

My favorite method is one you didn't mention. I like to cut strips (i.e. 2-1/2" x WOF) then use a triangle ruler and cut triangles (i.e. 2" finished). Sew 1/4" seam, press carefully and you have a perfect HST with no trimming. You also get one more HST out of a strip of fabric.
@raulf8687 Жыл бұрын
Anytime I can I use the 4 at at time method! I feel like I get more accurate results and all the triangles are uniform and the same. 😊
