I've got a bunch of Redland Renown tiles to put on a shed and I've decided to go for the matching cloaked verge tiles. Since I'm framing the roof myself I can build it to the width to take a whole number of tiles and avoid need for half tiles. You mentioned the overlap distance which is something I wondered about. In your experience can you get 100 mm overlap with a cloaked verge tile? As that's what I need for the shallow slope on my roof.

Yes you should be able to get 100mm headlap, what pitch is your roof?

@@roofingshiteroofing1189 Thanks for the quick reply! The roof is gonna be 17.5 degree which is listed as the minimum for my tiles (Farmhouse Red colour, which is ''smooth''). I would go steeper but trying to keep height down on the outbuilding. I've also bought the half round block end ridge tiles to go with the cloaked tiles. I was told by the local roofing place that Redland don't do the ridge tiles in Farmhouse Red. Is this your experience? (I've jsut bought the two block end ridge tiles for now, and they said Terracotta colour was the closest to Farmhouse red so gave me those)

Don't know where my comment has gone about goxhill but saw your answer flag up on my phone, and yes pal you were right, goxhill are clays, mainly pan tiles, and used frequently here in east Yorkshire as they based only a few miles out of town Another tile I've been using for the last 2 years as sandtoft were low on stock during covid where from Germany called a crest nelskamp, a beautiful made tile, still made in our tradition marley modern, double roman and double pantile(mendip) styles but far more superior to any UK tile, strong and with a lovely finish on them and lock in together lovely, something to try if you get the chance. Have a good day anyway pal, I'm ooking forward to my Christmas break and staying warm for a few weeks instead of been a silly bugger climbing about on roofs, I'll leave that to the fat guy in the red suit next week. All the best and keep your videos coming

dry verge easier! Could you do a vid on valley cuts as you cant easily turn and mark conc tiles like you can with slates.

They're also used to stagger the bond

On that profile tile you are correct. As it is not recommended that they are layed in straight lines. They must be laid on half bond👍👍
