What a lot of people didn't realize was that Ray Parker Jr., when he did his song "Ghostbusters" was that it was basically this song with the time signature sped up and it incurred a lawsuit against him from Huey Lewis

Beverly Hills Cop vibes! YES you nailed it. You're thinking of Heat Is On by Glen Frey (one of the band member The Eagles who passed away a few years back - RIP brother Glen). That is what you're hearing!!! Another song of Glen's that you'll likely recognize and has a smooth AF sax "You Belong to the City" Just a truly magnificent song to vibe to. There were a few great bands from back there that added some horns and sax in it. Huey, Tower of Power, early Chicago to name a few. Glen Frey and Hall & Oats also.

Great song and it’s funny you mentioned Ghostbusters because: When the theme song of the 1984 film Ghostbusters was released, Huey Lewis sued Ray Parker Jr. and Columbia Pictures for copyright infringement, claiming that Parker had stolen the melody from "I Want a New Drug". Huey was one of the first successful Christian rock acts and they paved the way for many other acts to follow. This song , he is referring to finding a higher power (Jesus Christ) as well as his other songs Power of Love (lyrics: Change your hawk to a little white dove, more than a feeling .. that's the Power of Love), Jacob's Ladder (from the bible) and many other's. He was revolutionary in the mid 80's in the way he brought a positive Christian message to the forefront of rock and roll.

Ray Parker lifted the music from this song for Ghostbusters. Huey Lewis was approached to write a theme song for the movie..he declined (i think because the movie studio demanded the word Ghostbusters had to be throughout the song). Ray Parker lifted it and was then sued by Huey Lewis and Huey won big time.
