As far as you getting close to 80, it's all you! The vibe is great and this 50 year old white lady loves it when younger people react to the music I grew up on. Dressing like Madonna and listening to hair bands. Lol. Now I hear my music played in the grocery store. Lol. You two are the first channel I check out whenever I log on to youtube. At running the risk of sounding like your moms I'm proud of you and I know you'll go a lot farther than where you are right now. Guaranteed! ❤

No they didn't write it for sports although it lend itself to sport events...It was written by Freddie about their struggle to become successful and the hard work it took to get there.. for example their first record label taking most of their earnings...Brian at first didn't want them to do this song because he thought the critics would think it was arrogant..but Freddie's 'I' was also "we" -all of us who have struggled hard to achieve our goals.

If you wouldn't mind please watch his epicly funny official video called I want to break free it's a spoof of a British soap opera it's supposed to be funny don't try to make anything of it it's just for laughs and they all had a great time making it, keep in mind the theme to this video was not Freddy's idea I'll leave it at that don't do any research just watch it raw and I guarantee you you will definitely enjoy it aside from that, breakthrough is another one and dragon attack are too amazing amazing songs, Queen Alters all their genres all over the place so you cannot ever put them in a box

When this tune was still popular and on the radio a lot, it was always paired with "We Will Rock You." You always heard them together like they were two parts of the same track. Freddie Mercury was an amazingly talented singer and musician, but he is also one of the most legendary rock and roll front men. If you haven't already, check out the Live Aid video. That performance shows his true mastery of working with a crowd. In fact, there's a 53 second clip from the 20+ minute performance titled "EEEEEOOOOOO" that shows it all. In between songs, he led the massive crowd in an extended , complex call-and-response that is just breathtaking. Guys, in terms of my own musical tastes, I'm an old school blues and jazz fan. I love rock and roll too, and the Beatles will always be my first love, but I've never been a great fan of rock from the 70s and 80s - most of it felt overblown, overwrought, self-important, and kind of dull to me. Queen was one of the exceptions, and my appreciation for their music has only increased as I've gotten older. Some music I look back on and think, "Uh, why did I like this when I was a kid?" or some other similar question. Queen is an example of an artist who, when I look back at, only seems to improve.

Need to react to Queen at the Live Aid concert in London. It's about 28 minutes long but it's the BEST live performance by ANYBODY!

Thanks for the video Half and Jai, be careful you two are going to end up being Queen fans. When you did the first Queen song and Half said he had never heard of them before, I knew it was just a matter of time until you got to We Will Rock You and We are the Champions and realized you had heard their music many times before and just didn't know who you were hearing. I'll throw in with everyone else suggesting Fat Bottom Girls, but also put up for consideration Somebody to Love, Bicycle Race, Another one Bites the Dust and Killer Queen. Honestly there aren't too many stinker Queen songs. Freddy was amazing and taken from us way to early, he had so much more music to give.

Freddie said "I was thinking about football when I wrote it. I wanted a participation song, something the fans could latch on to. It was aimed at the masses; I thought we'd see how they took it. It worked a treat. When we performed it at a private concert in London, the fans actually broke into a football chant between numbers. Of course, I've given it more theatrical subtlety than an ordinary football chant. You know me. I certainly wasn't thinking about the press when I wrote it. I never think about the British music press these days. I suppose it could also be construed as my version of 'I Did It My Way': we have made it, and it certainly wasn't easy. No bed of roses as the song says. And it's still not easy.'' Brian May said: ''This song is very theatrical. Freddie is very close to his art. I must say, when he first played it for us in the studio, we all fell on the floor with laughter. So many of the people in the press hate us because we've sidestepped them and got where we have without them. But there's no way the song says anything against our audiences. When the song says 'we', it means us and the fans.''

I'm sure someone's probably told you, or you've already found it and watched it. But you need to watch Bohemian Rhapsody the movie about Queen. Pretty great depiction of Freddys life and the band's amazing run.

I was in 5th grade in 1977 when this album came out. I saw Queen in 1980, at the Hartford civic center in Connecticut, it was amazing, no backing musicians, just the 4 of them

Queen, Seven Seas of Rhye... see him and his fast fingers on the piano. Everybody sees it come up after this video, but few actually watch it. It highlights Freddie's piano and theatrical talents.
