@stevenmorris19863 жыл бұрын
It literally warms my heart to see people watch this. Arguably the best piece of music the UK ever produced. Once you know the background to this song too. Freddie Mercury died of aids and whilst this song sounds like it's written about that, it was written prior to him falling sick and being diagnosed. Freddie Mercury struggled with his sexuality and this is allegedly about the death of his old self and coming out as gay. If you think the music has levels, the lyrics have a whole new dimension!

What Queen albums/songs would you recommend for someone new
@javiervigil2511 Жыл бұрын
@@Christoff070 I'd start with killer queen, then a night at the opera, live at Wembley is a great album and would give you an idea how good they were, live, but if you find the greatest hits it would more than satisfy. "Love of my life", is a favorite, "bicycle race" is fun, "seven seas of rye"... The list is long but they're all great for one reason or another. Enjoy👍

I was 16years old and in High School when this song came out. One of the kids in my history class would start singing this at least once a week, then the whole class would join in even the teacher. I still smile to think about those days. Nothing really matters anyone can see, nothing really matters to me.

More of a funk song than a rock song. The bassist who wrote it admittedly bit off black funk. Michael Jackson encouraged them to release it.

Bohemian Rhapsody was written, in 1975, by the late Freddie Mercury (lead singer, pianist), the falsetto was provided by Roger Taylor (drums), the bass player John Deacon (white suit), the guitar solos is by Brian May PhD (the guitarist with the striped shirt, playing a guitar he and his father made out of an old table top.)

This is about a man facing execution in the morning and has to cope with the idea he is about to do. The song is incredibly complex and goes through many transitions. To make this song no a days would be near impossible. The man was a genius and had the whole song laid out in his head. It combines something like 24 tracks perfectly synchronized. The lyrics are actually pretty simple and do not progress, but instead the music progresses and changes as he goes though different levels of blame, acceptance, fear, an sadness about his impending death. There is a video about the making of this song and it is well worth watching. Think, this song is almost 50 years old (1975).
@goldylocks39042 жыл бұрын
No it isn't . The song was about Freddie coming to terms with his sexuality. When he says he '' Killed a man'' he means he is getting rid of the man that used to pretend to be straight, and is going, in future, to be himself, a gay man.
@toddabbott7812 жыл бұрын
@@goldylocks3904 Metaphorically yes. I was talking about the literally meaning of what he was talking about. The fact that he was comparing the two shows how messed up he was about it. I also thought the way they worded... "Put a gun against his head, pulled my trigger, Now he's dead" Nobody says pulled MY trigger, I always though it more likely it was not a gun he was taking about and his "trigger" referred to him... ejaculating. I just find it ironic as this song was released in 1975, he got AIDS in 1987 and dies in 1991 from it. This would make his... gun more lethal than he knew...
@jamesadair6172 жыл бұрын
No it's not about that.. it's a more personal situation about the time Freddie coming out of closet and circumstances surrounding that.
@toddabbott7812 жыл бұрын
@@jamesadair617 That might be a possible meaning behind it, but the what is being actually sung about is a man that shot and killed another man, was caught, and sentenced to death. And now he is looking back at what he did and what his life means and how it effects others including his mother.
