I had the same problem putting in a 2015L. 83 into a 79 El Camino. With 2014 Malibu interior steering column, I had to have a friend fabricate one up for me. That was a fun endeavor oh great work, keep it up.

Beer Cad to Real Cad to Metal Pedal!....I have used a laser software to trace images before and it turns out pretty decent; make beer cad template, snap a picture upload into Lightburn, trace image, export DXF. It is a relatively cheap and powerful software. Give it a shot sometime. Nice Work! 👍😁

*- If you check at **0:54**, you will see the master cylinder is not plumb, but tips up at the firewall.* *...and That causes the pedal to be higher, or further away from the floor.*

You could have cut the pedal pad off the shaft and flip the shaft 90 degrees (up side down) and weld the pad back onto the oppersite end, should give you the right angle, I did it on my 36 Studebaker pickup.
