FAQ! Mainly to address mistakes! Q: Wait at 8:12... I thought entering that room resets the flag? A: Aw crap your right! That's my bad! When you try to go to the Sound-Test-Room, or any of the rooms with Gaster Followers, the game rolls a dice to see if you actually go there/get the event, and if you don't, it deletes the FUN value, so you have to turn off the game, change it back, and reboot before you can try again. The footage here is a tad deceitful then, since it implies you can just keep walking in and out of the room over and over rapidly like that, which is not correct at all! I may need to make a video explain why this happened but uh, basically I was editing very late at night, and messed up. Sorry about that! Q: Wow there's a lot of audio/visual bugs here, what happened? A: Mainly a combination of me adding/removing/tweaking a bunch of audio last minute to adjust for info gained during the sweepstakes, and me... trying new editing techniques to try to keep shotcut from wrecking the graphical quality of the sprites. The algorithm does not favor the slow and careful editor, so uhhhh sorry about all the bugginess. Q: Isn't this why you hired another editor? A: Yep! Hilariously the buggiest parts of the video here are the parts she DIDN'T work on! Oops! This was good practice though, I think I'll start spreading out the work a little more to fix this. It's important to remember, when it comes to video editing, and running a channel, I am building this plane as I fly it, so uhhh thank you all for being patient with the crazy turbulent flight this has been. Q: Aren't "EGG" and the "HEH" in "Nyeheheh!" also ties between The Egg, The Knight, and Papyrus? Oh yeah! I completely forgot about that. In Wingdings: E is a finger pointing Left (←) G is a finger pointing up (↑) and H is a finger pointing down (↓) A Knight in chess can only move in an L shape, so EGG ←↑↑ is a viable move! This may connect the Egg to the Knight, or it may be a weird coincidence, hard to say! HEH isn't.. really how I would envision an L ↓←↓ but... technically that puts you in the same place as ↓↓←, which is also a viable move for a Knight to make in chess, so maybe...? I'd be surprised if Toby thought of that though. Q: Isn't the song that place in The Man's room a cover from Yume Nikki? A: Yep! I wasn't sure if I wanted to get into that though, since 1. Megalovania is also a referential song used for before Undertale, and B it opens up discussion about Seccom Masada-sensei, which.. I am not at all qualified or prepared to unpack. Q: Wait, Catpetterz is real??? A: Not exactly, but I'd argue Petz5 is very very similar to what Toby describes. I'd offer you a link to check it out but I'm not even sure the game is legally purchasable anymore. Q: You mentioned links in the description but I can't access them! It was actually discovered recently that the song that plays in the egg rooms was reused from some fanmade Yume Nikki style songs Toby made a while back. I feel that might make the connection to Gaster stronger since that game has Uboa who not only resembles Gaster but, like the egg man, you need to go back and forth between two rooms to find. I’ve also been going mad with a “papyrus is the Knight” theory too, but for an entirely different reason. The main argument against Papyrus being the knight was that he had no idea how or reason to open dark fountains. However, thanks to the Spamton Sweepstakes, we now know that it is possible for darkners to communicate with lightners before their fountains are open. I don’t think people realize just how massive this, as it massively expands the possibilities for who could be involved with the dark worlds. Papyrus, being the naive adventure seeker he is, would be very likely to obey mysterious messages telling him to stab at the ground. He already did something like this in Undertale when he obeyed Flowey’s request to bring everyone together. If someone like Gaster asked Papyrus to be the knight, I think he’d do it. One question is what the goals of the knight and Gaster are. If they’re allied like I’m assuming, then of course that goal would be the same. My thinking is that since Gaster likely knows he’s in a simulation/game and is spreading that knowledge, he’s trying to find a way to escape that simulation. In a way, Gaster wants to become a “real boy” like the Pinocchio-inspired Spamton. This question of what the goal is also ties back to Papyrus being the knight, as he, Jevil, Spamton and even Ralsei (if you wanna go there) all have something in common: they’re all optimists. Jevil is insistent that he is the truly free one. Spamton is no longer an optimist, but he was before meeting Gaster according to one of the Addisons. If you want to say Ralsei’s 4th wall breaks are a tie to Gaster, he too has an overall optimistic attitude even when getting Susie to listen seems like a pointless endeavor. And then there’s Papyrus, who’s so optimistic it hurts. Essentially, I think Gaster is choosing to tell optimists the truth about their world. He wants people who will be willing to fight for a solution and won’t be crushed under the devastating reality that their choices don’t matter. Jevil and Spamton suffered psychological damage after learning the truth. Ralsei either chose not to work with Gaster or he’s hiding his involvement with him very well. But Papyrus seems like the kind of person who wouldn’t let this kind of revelation keep him down. If anything, he may not even understand just how big this is. Still, if Papyrus believes that opening fountains will make people happier, he’ll do it. He is very determined and doesn’t let negativity get in his way. As a bonus, Papyrus fits the physical description of the knight being a large person with long arms. The computer lab is in a public library, so he could get in there with no one batting an eye. The school is a bit more difficult, but if he went in while class was in session he very easily could’ve made the fountain without being spotted. There’s some finer details to this, but I think I’ll stop there since my phone is about to die. Thanks for making these videos, I love Deltarune speculation!
@HollyfromtheHollow2 жыл бұрын
...Y'know, I just realized something interesting. In Undertale, Papyrus is the only known character to personally know Flowey, who uses Papyrus to his advantage, manipulating him whenever he can. Deltarune has been making parallels to Undertale, both in characters and thematic elements. What if Papyrus is being manipulated once more...?
@FlareBlitzBanana2 жыл бұрын
@@HollyfromtheHollow That’s my thinking too. It wouldn’t be the first time we see a character make a similar mistake in both games, since the Dreemurs are still divorced for what can be assumed to be something Asgore did. Character flaws are present as well like Alphys’ anxiety, Undyne’s brashness, etc.
@HollyfromtheHollow2 жыл бұрын
...I also just remembered, @@FlareBlitzBanana, that Papyrus' main goal in Undertale is to become a member of the Royal Guard. All known members of the Royal Guard, besides the Dog couple, are either seen wearing big suits of armor or using knives and swords. Doggo dual wields knives, Undyne spends most of Waterfall chasing you in an intimidating suit of armor, Greater Dog is always seen with theirs, and Lesser Dog, RG01 and RG02 have both armor and giant swords. Now, in Deltarune, we have a roaring _Knight_ who goes around creating Dark Fountains with a _Blade._ The description matches perfectly. And, what's more, if you're one of those folks who wants to tie together Queen mentioning the _Hand_ of the Knight, then Papyrus lines up as well. He has the perfect amount of digits for a human hand, and if the holographic projection Queen shows doesn't line up, then it could easily be explained by him wearing gloves, _just like in Undertale._ I have my suspect, at the very least.
@flagonking13372 жыл бұрын
My theory has remained the same for a while regarding the Knight and Dess...Paps is the Knight, and he's opening fountains for her. If messages can go from the DW to the LW, then it would make sense that Dess would try to get out from the bunker DW I suspect she's trapped in. Getting Papyrus to find another way to get past a locked door...by opening more fountains.
@HollyfromtheHollow2 жыл бұрын
...Huh. That would work excellently, @@flagonking1337. It lines up with his kind nature, but also his naive and mistaken tendencies. Believing by opening Fountains, he would either find an entrance to where Dess is, or find some way to rescue her... ...Without knowing or realizing the consequences of creating them.

20:08 really reminded me of Ralsei. During the queen fight he says: “Queen, Think of the Lightners! Aren’t we supposed to make them happy?” And in chapter one, he says: “Our purpose - Darkners’ purpose - is to assist them. It’s the only way we can feel truly fulfilled.” This, plus some dialogue I came across from chapter one, if you save right before meeting with Ralsei at the castle, and walk down to talk to Susie, she says: “Maybe this place is an abandoned theme park?” “Wait, where are the rides, then…?” “Maybe they abandoned it ‘cause there weren’t any.” One last thing that I noticed from Ralsei’s Wiki. Now, I know it also mentions that his title changes throughout the game, but this bit about the acid love boat really caught my eye: “Ralsei's title changes depending on the pose Kris does for the camera” which, coupled with him previously talking about how “I don’t even know what being ‘Ralsei-like” is” makes me think that he is almost forcing himself to mirror our interests for the sake of our happiness, which might eventually lead us to “Leave Home Due to Happiness” . Kinda makes me think he’s the green crayon? He literally has no other purpose than to create what makes us happy, and if he does that too much he might just whittle himself down to just the paper wrapper, his clothes, which could explain why he disappears during battle but the “clothes” remain.

@@moss_floss Just had a thought due to your comment. What if any item doesn't produce a unique darkner? For example, any green crayon could make ralsei, but, due to some dark world fuckery it could be that ralsei shares consciousness with other green crayons in other dark worlds? Something to think about is that, there are many darkners that, at least, appear to be VERY similar. For example, there are many of those chess enemies on the board, which symbolise the pawns, who are identical to each other. And, there are 8 pawns of each color in a chess set. So, since the pawns would all transform into the same kind of darkner, who'se to say something similar couldn't happen to other kinds of darkners?

Papyrus thing that mentioned how enemies that were actually trying moved more than enemies that weren't, and Papyrus literally does not move in his battle, vs how he moves a pretty decent amount in his date. Papyrus is way stronger than people give him credit for, he's just not a person who fights or wants to believe people are inherently bad in the first place. Papyrus in Undertale canon is hinted at being VERY powerful. He is the only battle where his sprite doesn’t move AT ALL, even talks without moving his mouth (just like his brother Sans, which means he might move his mouth while talking just to not be uncanny). But in his date scene, he moves his mouth, his hands, his body, because he isn’t tense or holding back anymore. Other people who barely move while fighting you are Toriel and Asgore, who are concentrated on not killing you, and when they DO kill you, there is a split second regret sprite. Also Napstablook is another still battle, because they don’t want to be fighting at all. In contrast, the characters who REALLY want to kill you, like Sans, Mettaton, Undyne the Undying, Mad Dummy, etc, move around, they bounce, they dance, never still, trying their hardest. Papyrus being so chillingly still means he is using his whole might to hold back. Even then, he is able to summon different types of bone attacks and a gigantic bone with no problem! And when Flowey comes in at the end of a True Pacifist route, he uses four vines to hold down Papyrus, and only two for everyone else, why? Why if he didn’t know of some potential we don’t know about. We know Flowey liked to reset just to play around, he must have seen what Papyrus was capable of when he let himself get slightly lose. Undyne also mentions that Papyrus is strong, but he’s a softy. The only reason Papyrus doesn’t annihilate us, is because he’s too damn nice and really believes in everyone.

I think what's most intriguing about the egg is the fact that it doesn't change wether you are in the Light World or Dark World. All the items in the Dark World are just representations of their Light World counterparts, but the Egg remains the same, meaning it comes from somewhere else.
@Estra_Estra2 жыл бұрын
The man also just casually shows up in the Light World and then immediately disappears. Things in the Light World seem relatively normal, Undertale's magic doesn't even seem present, and then there's just... that? No Dark World shenanigans to explain this one away. And indeed, how come in an eggless playthrough we only notice the peculiar presence of a single egg the second time we inspect the fridge, when the first instance specifies the pickle jar is the only thing inside? It showing up on the first line read if we throw away the egg is even more sus. Kinda sounds like the lines about the man not needing to be there or allegedly never being there at all, sounding very sudden and even retroactive. Feels like someone forgot to update the game to add an easter egg in Asgore's fridge so they just stealthily did it after you reminded them by inspecting it. You know, normal things.

I’m so glad I’m not the only one who thought of this! In my eyes, it’s just the last nail in the coffin of evidence towards the egg’s importance. Adding to this: There are sort of "universal constants" in each game, for example Toriel wanting to be a teacher and is a teacher in Deltarune. Papyrus wanted to be a Royal Guard in Undertale, and probably is a knight in DR as it's the closest thing. Also note that Undyne doesn't have an eyepatch in DR, Papyrus could totally have taken Undyne's role in this game, the threatening opposing force that turns out to be likeable and friendly. Also remember Flowey manipulated Papyrus in UT, it's likely that some unseen force told Papyrus that he would make lots of friends and be super popular if he became the Roaring Knight and opened up the Dark Fountains (recall that the reason he wanted to be a Royal Guard was for popularity and to make friends). Sans in UT wants you to spend time with Papyrus because he's worried about Flowey messing with him, and in DR Ch1 he pretty much right away asks you to hang out with his brother but turns it down at the last second because "he's busy". Seems awfully suspicious to just be a throwaway gag to throw salt on the wound for fans.
@user-lh7mt7zo7l2 жыл бұрын
Speaking of universal constants I believe the "your choices don't matter" may be sort of like that one moment in Steins gate [Spoilers] They reach a point where Matsuri's watch always breaks and then **somehow** she dies. No matter what he does the outcome seems to be predetermined. Likewise maybe "your choices don't matter" is moreso a reference to how the game has universal constants and you only impact **how** you get to those points rather than having any control of those points themselves. That being said maybe Deltarune is going to emphasise the importance of the journey and how you get to a certain point and how it's not always about the ending.

Huh, 9:04 I am QUITE suprised that you didn't mention the fact that the song is originally a fan made track for *YUME NIKKI* Toby made. Usually that sorta thing is notable I feel. Especially concidering that one of Yume Nikki's main appeals are the various random events that, in the early times of the game existing, perplexed people, they were like urban legends, before properly documented. This actually reminds me a lot of Noelle's appreciation for this sorta stuff that we learned about during the sweepstakes (Yume Nikki spawned a whole culture of people fascinated by random/rare events in games like that! Even if it was inspired by "LSD Dream Emulator", it definately spread that idea very far), although all the fun events are already very much associated with random chance so... but I'm almost sure they are in the game in the first place because of Toby's love for Yume Nikki. So one last thing to mention about the song. It was originally called "Waltz of Seccom Masada". Seccom Masada is a character that has an all black body (!) and only a white face (!!!) I know a lot of people associate mysteryman with Uboa (another Yume Nikki character, very famous for its event), but honestly there's some reseblance with Masada in mysteyman. Especially the "black lower body and a white face" part. Last-last thing that I think is notable: "Waltz of Seccom Masada", that was sitting among other songs in the Tumblr post, is the only one to just have a chiptune version of it playing right after. Maybe we will hear this chiptune rendition of the Waltz later in the game of Deltarune? We shall see If you read the comment, thank you~! :)

Firstly, thank you for this connection, I always knew there was inspiration but I never knew Toby made music for Yume Nikki. Also, you're going to explain all this obscure music knowledge, and not even point out that a big goal in Yume Nikki is to collect effects which come in the forms of eggs. You gather these from dreams worlds which are all connected, which could easily be paralleled to the dark world. I'm not sure what to value this too, but add the fact that getting all effects gets you one of the most subtly disturbing video game endings I've seen, and suddenly I've very interested in the end goal of collecting all Deltarune eggs.
@HalfBreadChaos2 жыл бұрын
Hm, I was aware but the script was already a bit bloated, and I'm not *super* familiar with Yume Nikki. I did play it a bit, and looking into it before finishing the video, just in case, but "What is the deal with Seccom_Masada-sensei" is absolutely the sort of tangent that will claim hours if you allow it to, haha.

@@HalfBreadChaos Trying to reply too two people at once. Hopefully you see this Szkraft220. First, thanks for clarifying, I haven't played any Yume Nikki fangames, but initially I thought you were implying he had a hand in Yume 2kki or .flow (silly me). Either way, I guess this is intended towards you Bread, but I personally wouldn't drag Yume Nikki into Deltarune theories. The game itself is an enigma and only interpretations of a greater story can be made. Characters like Seccom Masada and Uboa don't have solid identities nor motivations and honestly feel like part of the Yume Nikki world as opposed to entities. Toby likes to pay homage with references of Uboa in Mystery Man's, and more subtle environmental and gameplay features (many which are already a reference to Earthbound), but I don't think its worthwhile digging into - sincerely a person who went digging for references for far to long back when Undertale was first released. On a separate note however, I do want to bring to attention the amount of old music Toby reuses. Some examples obviously include: - Waltz of Seccom Masada (thanks again Szkraft220) - Fanfare from Rose of Winter - When I Get Mad I Dance Like This (as you mentioned yourself Bread) But there's actually more subtle references as well. I thought I should share one I found from Temmie Chang's animation "Potion Shop" which Toby did the music for (I remember this being obscure, but a few people have pointed this out now so it may be old news). Towards the end of the video, there's something which isn't identical too, but could have definitely inspired "The Circus", about 3:27 in the video. Now, I mainly bring this up to say, like any wise musician, Toby seems to reuse music he believes has a greater purpose or could be improved. This is natural, but as these pieces don't have any lietmotifs built upon in Deltarune, there's really not much point in theory crafting with them. They're all just pleasant references, and giving largely unheard music a second life. If that changes though and they do seep into other music, I'll be sure to let you know.

The talk of the Papyrus Knight theory reminded me of something, beyond his favorite food having eggs in it. Toby never stops blowing my mind. unfortunately for the papyrus is the knight theory, an update for deltarune's description on steam implies we won't see papyrus at all in deltarune. Papyrus being the man behind the tree is perfect because it ultimately can still link back to gaster but giving eggs to strangers is a much more papyrus thing than it is a gaster thing. So something worth noting about Deltarun Chapter 1 Sleeping is it adds some interesting details. This is actually proof Kris "sleeping" and the Player "sleeping" are two different states. Kris went to the school when Player slept. In Ch2 we assume Kris was sleeping in class and has an alibi but now they don't. Papyrus is a good candidate for the Knight still sadly. remember how he made basically inedible spaghetti because he thought it made people happy? Trying so hard to make people happy it may even drive them away? How easy Papyrus would be to manipulate if like Kris if you could another Soul inside of him. To make him a puppet. This whole idea of leaving though to happiness instantly brought Flowey to my mind. Flowey's whole goal was to keep the player in the game. If the player get a happy ending, they will be done with the game and leave. So Flowey is trying to keep the player in the game for as long as possible, because Frisk, the player's avatar, reminds him of Chara. This is also the conundrum that Darkners face. Ralsei says their purpose is to make lightners happy, but eventually, a happy lightner will just end up abandoning them, like what happened in card kingdom. Really makes me think this is going to be a big theme in Deltarune moving forward.

Just one thing: man.ogg could actually have a version of Gaster's theme in its first three notes, albeit with the notes switched around and transposed. It has the same distances between notes. Gaster's theme's melody has 4 notes with this relationship: base note (A), half-step up (Bb), then a perfect 5th up (F), then a perfect 5th down (Bb). If we consider the Bb to be the Tonic (the main note of the scale), then we have the notes Ti, Do, and Sol from the scale, causing the melody to be Ti-Do-Sol-Do The first three notes of man.ogg have a similar relationship: Base note (E), Half Step down (Eb), then minor 6th up (B). If we consider E to be the Tonic, then we have the same 3 notes: Ti, Do and Sol, with the melody Do-Ti-Sol. Granted, E is not the tonic, but its interesting the notes are sort of similar.

It might not be that far fetched to think the abandoned quiche is part of the references to eggs considering the echo flower near the quiche says "I couldn't take the responsibility.", which is similar to "It's too much responsibility for an egg.", Papyrus describes Sans making a quiche at one point, & Sans runs the store the egg basket is in where he makes egg puns with Toriel & then Asgore shows up & ruins it. Sans, Toriel, & Asgore are all referenced to pies at least once in Undertale but Papyrus specifically refers to a "sugary non-egg substance" in Sans' "quiche" (pie). Sans, Toriel, & Asgore have a conversation about eggs in Deltarune. I wonder if we'll be able to give Toriel an egg at some point & she'll make a quiche with the duplicated eggs.

I actually am a big fan of the Chrono Trigger theory that could possibly even explain it and it could give us a good hint as to what is the current "state" of Gaster, and what's the deal with the egg. spoilers for that game below. Gaster himself resembles a lot the three great gurus from the Kingdom of Zeal. Gaspar, Melchior and Balthasar. they all were brilliant scientists and they were greatly renowed for their wisdom. The Gurus created a device known as "Mammon Machine" that would harness an insane ammonut of energy from Lavos, a giant and powerful turtle monster that crashed into earth eons ago and slowly kills the planet. However this plan fails, the machine wakes Lavos up which causes it to wreck chaos and the machine itself started opening gates and tears in reality across time. The three gurus fell into these tears and were transported into different times. Essentially you could say they did infact fell into their own creation. Now while Melchior and Balthasar were transported into actual time periods from the game, Gaspar actually got teleported into "End of time" . which is literally what the name suggests. Where time and space as we know it doesn't exist. There's especially a lot of similarities here between Gaster and Gaspar, like both of them seemingly being in very similar "states". But let's focus on the main topic of this discussion : the egg. You see halfway through the game, Chrono, the main character actually dies from Lavos, after traveling back to the Kingodm of Zeal times and witnessing the Mammon Machine failing, Lavos wrecking chaos and opening tears in reality, Chrono tries to stop it but gets literally destroyed. Thats when you can go to Gaspar and he will give you...a time egg. this time egg alongside a Chrono clone can be taken to the Death Summit in the far future. The place at the top where you place the egg is ODDLY SIMILAR to the hidden egg rooms. After this is done the time egg hatches, time stops and you replace the real Chrono at the moment of his death with a doll and Chrono is saved. So what the hell does this all mean? Well i don't think it's obviously gonna be directly 1:1 and Kris will die at some point and get swapped with the vessel we created using the eggs we got, however it's a good lead considering that Deltarune is definetly inspired just as much by Chrono Trigger as by Earthbound. The egg itself in CT represents the idea of possibility. On top of the fact that it has also unusual space-time properties, like it stops time when it hatches and to hatch it we have to treat it like an egg. Kind of what happens in Deltarune too considering that despite its weird unegglike properties Kris can "treat it like an egg" by putting it into the fridge or into the egg basket. As if it was just another usual egg. What i think it could be is that it could be the way to somehow introduce the Vessel character into the game. How though i have no clue.

The car connection is definetely interesting considering there is a man in a car next to the library but he only appears if you still have the egg from chapter 1 (iirc). He waves at you happily. And as someone mentioned already, the Yume Nikki connections are quite strong with this one and further connect to the quirky mystery man himself. Choosing a Yume Nikki fan song for the man fits since you encounter him similar to the way you meet Uboa - by exiting and entering the same room over and over again (minus the lightswitch). And he gives an an egg, which is what the effects in Yume Nikki look like and finding all is crucial in order to get the ending. You can sleep in the bed to skip to a dark world directly, similar to entering a dream in yume nikki. So dark worlds really feel dreamlike. And of course, mystery man's sprite is most likely heavily inspired by Uboa. At this point, we really need to keep an eye on Toby's unused songs since he might bring them back with interesting context, kinda like "d.ogg" and "Merry CD", which fits Noelle since it's a christmas themed song. Kinda got off track here but I'm just losing my mind at the weird and obscure, perhaps even intentional connections Toby has layed out for us over the years.

The suspicious thing about the removed tree is that if you wanted a rudinn to pop out from behind a tree, you'd seemingly just script it to do so & if it didn't work, you'd probably just fix it pretty easily or make the tree turn into a .png explosion after the rudinn leaves it. I don't think you'd just delete the tree. This seems intentional.

Toby also made it clear that people shouldn't have exposed a certain secret hidden in the files in Undertale or he wouldn't hide secrets anymore. It was updated to just chaotic laughing. So if you need a few Eggs to make things work out perhaps he did move the "Egg Character" to almost the front of the game. An aspect of fiction that messes with reality is Glitches. While Kris, Noelle, and Susie are all versions of themselves... a glitch remains the same both in and out of a game. The egg will always be an egg. It will always behave oddly and inconsistent in reality and in fiction. Look at MissingNo. Our stories of it are just as chaotic as itself. A skeleton, an L, or other shapes. Mandatory Gaster moment. So Gaster's "death" isn't a death. It is a Glitch. That is why the game crashes or resets. Have you ever seen a Sprite glitch out after doing something it should not? It looks like it was torn into pieces and scattered around. The more extreme the more things get pieces of it. This doubles back onto Toby not "hiding" secrets. They are in plain sight and become increasingly obvious. (The tree on the wall hinting at the room.) Undertale was a game because Toriel got a plush and Frisk and others I believe got figurines, Gaster touched something and glitched out of existence. That is even why the game crashes, reality itself glitches. It also means the stating sequence of Deltarune takes place in the Dark World somewhere. Or not, but I noticed this so I thought I'd share my crazy observations.

whoa whoa, wait. so a lot of people are confused about the room in queens mansion with all the lights symbolizing someone. If papyrus room has a lot of flame themes things in it, then why couldn't the flame shaped light symbolise papryus?

There was a theory I saw that the red-orange boot shaped light was papyrus. Specifically papyrus’s boots.

You don't actually lose the Egg in Chapter 2. It moves by itself in the basket. If you check it,it will still say:"there are more eggs here than usual"

Probably too simple, but at 12:41, with the tree having matured (or died), it might symbolize the egg cracking, ie the children leaving toriels home. Since we're handed an untracked egg early on, perhaps it'll eventually start showing signs of maturity to signify the growth of Kris?

Awww, the jerky=candy conversation is cute, I hope they can add it back into chapter 1 (at least so it gives context to the chapter 2 dialogue).

I feel like 7:40 is more of a play on ‘a man of the people’ and ‘people person’ than assuming that spamton’s a family man. I mean it still can relate to responsibility, as it implies spamton has a level of authority and a duty to his pipis, but it’s certainly different.

I think spamton is a hive mind, because in the Spamton Sweepstakes videos theres like 5 different spamtons with different middle names. And another reason is cuz the pipis releases little spamtons :)
