Nice tutorial. Appropiately paced and very useful. My buddy in Germany (Hi Jan!) used it to replicate the whole thing. Thank you very much for making this video.

Great video mate. You seem to know quite a bit on the festool mft. And you have given me idea what I can use the table for. You have great lecturing skills and share your passion with other enthusiasts. I think in Australia we pay a lot more for a festool than you do. But we have our festool enthusiasts and I always promote festool and have quite a few systainers and new t loc and ordered the new range t loc 500mm wide box.

Thanks, Ron! Yeah there are a lot of aussies with Festool; we have several on the FestoolOwnersGroup.com forum. In fact, there's a "video" contest going on now until the 20th. Normally it is only for the US, but with some kicking, the UK division is holding their own and the Australian division as well. All three are separate and there's only 2 videos submitted (random winner) for Australia.... soooo... if you have an idea what to use the table for, make a video (camera or phone even) and post it to KZbin and to that forum. Some big prizes available and it's a random drawing so not a lot of pressure to make a big video production :)

Outstanding! Thanks so much. Articulate, efficient, and very helpful. Festool would be smart to have you on substantial retainer!

i like the idea of getting extra crosscut capacity. how can i get the "little extra clamp" to set up like you did ?
@HalfinchshyWWing4 жыл бұрын
The associated blog article for the video includes links to Festool's EKAT system for ordering the clamps. Here's the article link: www.halfinchshy.com/2010/05/adding-4-12-to-your-mfts-cross-cut.html

Great series, Paul. What is your preferred method to break down sheet goods to work within the Festool MFT size constraints?

Great Job! By the way, not sure if the tennis balls on the Erwin Clamps are for safety or to keep from scratching your stock, but it occurred to me that racket balls would be smaller (though not as bright).

I am looking into workshop wall storage. Just wondering what brand are the organiser boards on your wall? Would you recommend them? The only thing similar i can find are from elfa too which are aluminium.

Hi Paul, where did you get that small track that is on the side of your MFT? did you cut it off a larger one? I've been thinking about my options on how to get a 2ft section for small stuff, but cutting it off a newly purchased long ( and expensive ) track makes a tear go down my face. Thanks Ben

Just ordered the mft/3, can't wait for it to come. Maybe you've covered it in other videos, but do you use the mft to cut down full sheets? I know its too small by itself, but wondering what other people use with it when dealing with full 4x8 sheets.

Kevr you'll love the MFT/3 once you get used to it. Usually for large sheets, I have two sawhorses in the shop with sacrificial 2x4 attached to the top. I often put a full sheet on those and lay a guide on them to breakdown to more manageable parts. Thereafter, the MFT is great for crosscutting and all the rest of the work.

Paul, I have the room in my shop for a second MFT/3 so of course I bought one. My intention was to build a worktable that would carry both and have integrated systainer storage as well as other general storage. I'm curious as to you opinion as to the most versatile or efficient configuration of two MFT/3's married together. End to end or side to side? Thanks for all the time you put into demonstrating and reviewing, you save all of us much time, confusion and shorten our learning curves.

Hey Paul, figured it out, 32" right? here is another question for you if you don't mind. the tracks I have now are the 42" that comes with the MFT and the 55" with the saw, what do you think should be my next purchase? do you ever use the holey one with your router?? thanks Paul , your the man! Ben

There are differences. Someone on FOG took on this video and his MFT/3 to come up with a workable way to do it. As I don't have an MFT/3, I can't say how well it worked out, but he seems very happy with it. Here's a link to his reply on the thread where I first posted this review. He has a lot of photos. What he was specifically after was getting to use the Qwas dogs for fast calibration. That and the expanded cross-cut capacity are huge for me: festoolownersgroup.com/festool-tool-reviews/video-review-of-festool-mft-system-(495462-495565-495888)/msg137695/#msg137695
