I understand Sistah's reactions. She reminds me of a very good friend of mine, who is also able to understand music immediately in an emotional way. As I am personally more an analytic guy like Wolf, listening music together with her makes me often notice things I would never notice by myself. This together with Wolf's often very deep analysis makes this the best reaction channel I know, where videos over 30 minutes seem to pass by as quickly as this song. You both are awesome. Thanks, you reached Wintersun. This is from their second album "Time 1". It consists 5 songs and three of them are also done like this, live rehearsal. You could try the next song "Time" from this same live rehearsal session. Jari Mäenpää (blonde lead vocalist and guitarist) means the same to Wintersun than Tuomas Holopainen to Nightwish. And instruments, what you don't see but you hear, they are also made by Jari... Wintersun is also those bands who don´t know how to do a bad song. So far they have done 3 albums. BTW, from KZbin you can also find a video which is from a camera that was in front of Kai! So you can see and hear him mostly and the band is somewhere behind... If you are interested to see that.

Oh yeah. The word epic gets thrown a lot but this piece is real. This is the song that finally had me tolerating, then appreciating, harsh vocals. It took me maybe five tries to get through it initially but it’s now in my top 5 all time favourite songs. I have it on repeat at the gym. Your face, Sistah, when the music started...great stuff.

Time, is such a brilliant album. Wintersun put so much time into their albums. Jari is pretty much a Finnish version of Devin Townsend, his ideas are huge, his vocals are huge and his guitar playing is brilliant. Kai was not on his limits, they all must have a bit reserve for a bad day when playing concerts. Search for Kai hahto obey to see much faster feets, it's near invisible. I think this was the last recording of the day so he was a bit warm.

That album is a masterpiece, every song is perfect. The short songs are the intros for the longer ones, and they need them, because they're so fitting. I also recommend Insomnium. Heart Like A Grave, Pale Morning Star, The Primeval Dark, While We Sleep... I haven't heard a single song I don't like.

I only gave Wintersun a shot less than a week ago. So now I'm checking out the first reactions of my favorite reaction channels to Wintersun. They blew my mind. I remember you (Wolf) saying you'd be giving info and what not because you probably knew every song and band requested. Didn't you learn anything from Socrates? lol. Through reaction vids I got to know Epica and now Wintersun. I already knew Nightwish, but not the Floor versions. So you could call that a discovery too. 'Time' was the first song I heard of Wintersun. It had so much beauty and emotion in it. That one really touched me.

Let's see if some of your Patreon people agree enough to suggest this :) It's slightly less demanding (at least for the drummer), yet I noticed that was the one I was humming afterwards. Think it's the name of the Album too. Then there are 2 more I'd recommend: Land of Snow and Sorrow. & the other not from this rehearsal, called Loneliness (a dedication to the father of the singer/composer, after his passing).

There are heavy hints of Blind Guardian and Wuthering Heights (the Danish progressive folk metal band, not the Kate Bush song) in the sound of this band, especially this song. I love how Jari mixes the choruses up with either black metal screaming or cleans.

The singer Jari Mäenpää suffered from tuberculosis and had to get surgery, half of his lungs were removed and this is the result :) Such an survivor and bad arse of a man!!!!!!

The way this song is composed. Is a metal masterpiece. Kai's drumming is super aggressive but so controlled. It underlines the tone of the song and melodies perfectly while simultanoesly going full auto for 10 minutes. Jari pours himself in the vocals. Guitarwork is amazing. I've heard this song like 5000 times and I can't get enough of it. I've been a huge fan of Kai since his days on Rotting Sound and for me his drumming makes the song but you could argue that any part of the composition is masterful.
