4:58 I definitely agree with the design of this Mootland map, unlike basically every other map for Warhammer Total War or really most Total War games' maps this one feels lived in, as in being an actual functional community in their layout and density of landmarks and structures but also the arrangement feels way more...organic, like generations apone generations of VAST, extended farming families building themselves up. I can actually imagine it all being a true thriving, lively country or busy little village, that is if it weren't for the hellish march of war making its way through these quite farmlands and relaxing cottages of earthen mounds or hillside homesteads set amongst fields, vineyards, little gardens or various vegetables and grazing pastures set along the windings of the crystal blue river. Most field maps are basically empty and boring stretchs and most other city or town maps are just BIG empty boxes with ridiculously wide streets and corridors that look more like props, set pieces for some cheap flick!

this lost faction mod is awesome but its highlighting why some of these factions probably should stay obscure. I love Fimir but that battle was kind of uninteresting to watch. I'm sure its going to be similar with the all troll faction. Araby was legit though that really should be a DLC faction at some point. I'm semi interested in Albion too now.

I play all my campaigns with the no army loss penalty mod, many thanks to The Duke for this mod. I cannot say how many times have I managed to win a battle despite the balance bar being completely red. And it makes for truly epic last stands. Strongly recommend it to everyone!

That is really incredible. One of the best things a game developer can do is open up their title to modders to keep adding fresh stuff. Having said that the halfling stats dont 100% represent how I would imagine a halfling to be. I think they have the same weapon strength as orcs here lol.

There was an old Dogs of War army list released during early 6th edition Warhammer in a White Dwarf issue, and the "mightiest" unit available from that roster were Halflings with a Spear and sheild. For only 6 points per model, you got a movement of 5, a weapon skill of 2, aballistic skill of 4 , the "Over-powered"a combination of a strength and toughness of 2 ,Initiative of 5, one attack and leadership of 8 with the abillity to move through forested terrain without any penalties. (Not to mention totally awesome 6+ armour save from the sheild, that would be negated with a stength 4 or higher or any armour-piercing attack.) But seriously, what the heck were Alessio Cavatore smokingwhen he got that idea for a close combat Halfling unit I never know. (They existed before in the 4th/5th The Empire army book.) The other unit is the option to choose from that unit entry were Halflings with bows, where their high movement and ballistic skill, combined with their abillity to move through forested terrain meant the archer variant would be a much better unit. Lorewise the Fimir were once the favoured servants of the gods of Chaos, untill the coming of man.

I think the high melee defense is because hobbits have extreme natural reflexes. U can see that in the fellowship where the cave troll has a hard time hitting Sam. Bilbo also avoids getting chai gut as well.

I feel like the Melee Defense bonus is meant to represent their swooftness while their still full of soup. It's definitely overpowered and could use some re-implementing, maybe some kind of small flat Missile and Melee dodge chance instead?
