Good God whoever played the Dark Elves, kudos to them, they absolutely carried the game, their ability to divide and conquer important units was sexy as hell.

This sort of game is a best-case scenario for cavalry; you can go a full-cav force and so not need to split attention unlike solo commanders, and you're in such a complex battle it increases your ability to go uncountered. That really came into play here, with both cavalry units completely cleaning up the entire enemy backline. But the DE player manages to do so much more efficiently, and manages to keep the high-end cavalry in good condition to dominate the end-game, as well as managing to keep at least one unoccupied heavy cav unit to exploit enemy lord mistakes.

The Strigoi used to be the good bloodline, but Nefertata basically turned all the vampires against them, which drove them into hiding and turned them insane

The Strygoi bloodline is really the only ones that actually care for there mortal servants, as it is all they have left of there old empire. To bad they are mostly stuck talking with corpse's and gouls

@@DarkLordOfSweden I am no expert in the lore but the Strygoi bloodline are from Neferata's brother right , and while he didn't want to be left out of the exclusive rich people become immortal gang that his sister was making(he didn't know it was vampirism), he was genuinely a decent dude. Plus I believe nerferata did something to the potion that he drank and that's why Strygoi are so different. Though I believe that helped them, the other vampire bloodlines need live prey where as the Strygoi do not, so during there empire they could eat the freshly dead and prisoners sentence to death an not effect their living subjects. In total war terms the Strygoi vampire lord is a regal noble ruler with a hideous form and monstrous strength, but after years of being forced into hiding and living like animals eating long dead corpses and the flesh of beast and talking to nothing but zombies and ghouls in their hidden homes, the Strygoi ghoul kings are a little bit like unhinged vampire hill people.

I like that Darkshards with shields actually have the shield out front animation wise when shooting, almost none of the others have it so I don't know if it's even in use when trading shots.

yeah if theyre shot from the front any unit with shields will get their missile block chance. but darkshards are one of the few that actually have an animation for it

24:50 "You could barely ask CA to make a better Dogs of War DLC." Even if they did, they wouldn't manage even half of how creatively implemented some of these units are. They always nail the aesthetics but only add stale powercreep abilities (combat steroids, army buffs, enemy debuffs, snares, etc.) instead of the new mechanics that make the mods so flavorful. The Cursed Company would just be a reskinned Sternsmen.

Part of me is hoping we might get dogs of war before 3, kinda like the Norsca DLC. But then again, I'd prefer if we had 4 whole LLs as opposed to just 2 like what Norsca gave us. Only thing is, I wonder how much they will have to warp the world map to have the southern realms in the game, as well as Kislev, CD, and Ogre Kingdoms all on one smaller campaign map.

@@soalstone 30 seconds for every shot and it only holds 10 rounds. It better fucking blow shit up if it didn't then they would be useless. Though my favorite part about them is that they can fire whilst moving. But they would be fine for multiplayer Bertha from the VC is almost as powerful but it doesn't get use because of how inaccurate/slow to fire it is for its price point.

That was never gonna work for the southern Realms. It may have looked like a close thing, but you can't win against a bunch of elven factions by going mass infantry. You either have super elite cav, monsters, or you just don't win. Unless you are playing dwarfs maybe, and everything you have has insane melee defense, high armour and a shield.

Really cool battle - but I really wish Dark elves would get nerfed, their roster is actually ridiculous, unless the player is terrible they should win every time. Also I don't know if the mod has been updated, but when I played a head to head campaign a while back with Border princess versus riekland, I found that they really lacked AP infantry :P

If you don't at least pressure Wood Elf archers, you aren't going to win. Waywatchers doing whatever they want win games. Not saying it was an optimal engagement, but as far as high risk, high reward play, taking out Waywatchers before they use their ammo is certainly worth a shot.

Booo to the Eternity King plot, probably high in the running for the worst part of the already awful ET. Seriously, Malekith is responsible for almost everything bad in the setting. Without him, no war of the Beard, OR Nagash, since Nagash learned dark magic from the Druchii. Also depending on the source, it was one of Nagash's rituals (And the Skaven counter ritual or something) that played a key part in making the Slann mountain-moving go so horribly wrong for the Dwarfs.
