The sheet of paper about Charlotte looking into Jackson has actually led to the theory (not confirmed, just a theory) it was Jackson Thornton she was researching, her, Clara, and Harper's grandfather. And that HE is actually the father of Clara, and why Rosalie, Clara's mother, never spoke to her daughter about her father and why the father of Clara is not on the family tree. You never actually find out in the game, though folks have reached out to the developers, who said they left clues for the older players to "put the pieces together" regarding some of the unsolved mysteries in the game.

Interesting story.. I played this game with my sister when it first came out. I was like something is off with this family… either there is incest going on or they are having sex with slaves.. or both. We went to Her Interactive’s official messageboard and we weren’t the only ones who thought this and there was a long discussion about it. Her Interactive eventually locked the thread and deleted it from their website. The theory makes sense because that actually happened down south centuries ago. It was also a way of keeping wealth within the family.

So I FINALLY played this game and can watch this without fear of spoilers. Let me just say that this game started off SO strong and then took the biggest nosedive into the burning wreckage of whatthefucksville. 😂 I cannot WAIT for this Christmas gift three years in the making and the dragging of the characters.

SPOILER ALERT The only reason I figured out it was Clara was because she kept giving excuses as to why she wasn’t the victim. Sure Wade and Colton told some lies and are kind of slimy, but they, along with Harper and Jesselynn, were always open about who they were. Clara never was. I only really liked Harper to be honest. Everyone else kind of sucked and weren’t compelling at all.
