It’s above the deflector in the nose section. You can see it clearly marked in the diagram shown in the middle of the video, although it’s modelled below the deflector on the cgi in the video. It wasn’t modelled on the model used in the show but we can assume it’s behind a hull panel on the actual ship, like the two on either side of the refit Enterprises saucer section.

Funny thing was the only way Romulans would let the federation borrow that cloaking device was if it was operated by a romulan crew member. They kept this up for like 2 episodes then never brought up again.

When you make these videos, you make it as if we can actually make these ships in real life. And if the funny thing is I believe we have some of the material to obtain to make these ships in real-time in real life. The are no problems. We don't have a technology.
@tonep316822 сағат бұрын
We could build one today, but it wouldn’t go anywhere, or do anything, and would need constant food and water drops. Just think what we do with submarines right now.

@tonep3168 That's a true point. To you, though, my friend you're absolutely right. I agree, that's what I was saying myself. Anyway, it will come. I believe it will come over time, but not in my lifetime.

@@skapunkoialternativeliving6522 I guess you could replace the Warp Engines with vacuum rocket motors, and add ion thrusters to where the impulse engines would have been. It’s a shame some billionaire doesn’t want to built one of these for fun!
@skapunkoialternativeliving652221 сағат бұрын
@tonep3168 I think it would be too expensive to build actually improve on. Imagine a ship like that. You're looking at probably leaves 15 billion dollars. At least one man, even with a wealth cannot do it by himself. You'll need investors to do that even like the starship enterprise. Imagine if they build that or forget it. The price will be out of this world not to mention the technology. You need to run that in space and keep it up there indefinitely. It will happen in time. I think, but not in our lifetime.
@s_1884Сағат бұрын
Nice production values. Very clean and good looking models though it makes it look like there's a lot of empty space in there. Looks like a middle road between the apparently inaccurate DS9 Tech Manual and other bits of information scattered everywhere. So yes, I'm someone who was too interested in these things that the people making the show probably didn't think so much about. Max Speed - they made it to 9.5 in one episode - no higher. The script is.. odd - forward right you already mention the phaser cannons and launchers, then forward left you mention multiple phasers and torpedo again? There was like - one mention that the impulse engines are powered from the Warp Core rather than fusion reactors - which is why the little runabout could fly into engineering through the impulse drive. You see an aft torpedo firing about once. Down the centreline. And it's one of the yellow flaring probably photons not blue-white streak. There's dialogue of aft torpedoes, but not what type. So the show doesn't support two aft and they may not have Quantums back there. It's impressive that even a ship like this would have tiny labs.

Wait, so all those windows on the underside/belly (decks 4 and 5 I believe) are looking in on water tanks?? Why put windows there at all then... I'd always assumed the crew quarters were down there, maybe the mess hall (rooms that actually might benefit somehow from windows)
@nicholasmorsovillo275215 сағат бұрын
I find it funny that the shuttle bay of the Defiant was in the center of the ship and the way the shuttles were launched reminds me of the NX Class as their shuttlecraft were launched in a similar manner through the launch doors built into the ventral hull.

Will my thoughts on the defiant are that we should try to build it for real. It seems like it as starships go it is potentially reasonable anyway. And why not look at the money that we blow on all kinds of the junk that nobody ever benefits from.

I've always thought that the detachable warhead was a stupid idea and made zero sense. As you said, that's where the deflector is at. They must have brought a temp in that day to write the detachable warhead into the canon of the ship.
