Welcome to our first adventure everyone. Today we were working the paradise cove which is a giant Halibut Haven if you have clean water and can locate the bait around huge expanse of Halibut territory, there are lots of mud flats north toward the bridge and the prison but south into the paradise cove and south east toward the mouth of the racoon straights prime territory to start your day or your to end your day if the winds pick up. Anything and everything bites here, stripers, salmon, sharks, bat rays and many more fun to catch species if the conditions are right on any given day.
Today we had a battle not with fish but ourselves with ridiculous amount of line tangles and snags working risky locations to avoid sail boats anchored up to linger and watch our inexperienced first outting, it was extremely comical even to ourselves we had to just laugh it off as "just one of those days" we cannot always have good days and by the way were fishing like a freshman team, it showed and we could no absolutely nothing about it other than just laugh it off for today. I believe we experience enough issues with tackle, tangle, losing fish for the entire season so all the next outtings will be nothing short of amazing hahaha going forward. We got out our bad vibes enough for all of 2024 at least this is what we said cause stuff like this happens over a season not in a single day, I would have swore somebody had brought bananas onboard this trip.

April 20th 2024, We struggled enough for an entire 2024 season with rediculous amount of rookie mistakes for our first outting. Our nerves and undesiveness on tackle led us to rigging up with Herring while trolling to stay productive, this only lead to quick bites on the aritifical Rapala Minnows leaving us never able to fishing rigging trap rigs for the herring we brought. The contant losing of fish was a huge head scratcher since it started to make us feel like losing our minds, We just could NOT keep fish on, We were absolutely catching just unable to hold onto fish along with losing fish at the net multiple times was frustrating. Trying to focus on getting footage and landing fish gave us a run for our money this outting. The bite was fire, the fish were very well built with some weight that any mistakes these huge halibut will let you regret every bad move and we did lol, It was very very frustrating to lose that many fish in a day and these were nothing short of 25+ fish, from experience we knew we had nothing but Monsters at the end of our lines, but they were so powerful this time of year and very and I mean extremely aggressive with head shakes, it's a battle of the drag system and will be the remainder of the season. Check your drags my fellow fisherman, that will get you every time since these fish know exactly how to shake themselves off and make you feel like you got an easy one in the box! We know for the rest of the season to not count a fish until it's in the net and onboard before any High Fives are thrown around the deck, The bite is FIRE!! and I mean non stop FIRE this season, very exciting

@24ksportfishing53 I predominantly fish our lakes and the Sac river when Salmon was available. I'm going to extend my fishing grounds to the delta and S.F. bay. Just trying to learn about which areas are best. I also have a Seaswirl Striper. Much older than yours. But in great shape. I subscribed to your channel and follow it because you're willing to share where and what you're doing and using. Thank you for that. Helps out a lot. Hoping to be out on the bay chasing butt's soon.

Isn't regulation in the SF Bay, 1 rod, 3 hooks per license? Got to be smart bro, fines are steep $$$

Hopefully you didn't skip the video :-) we had 4 people onboard but YES, you are correct 1 Rod per person per license, Kids under 16 years of age can fish without a license and can have the same Bag Limits as licensed adult fisherman. That said you are partially correct about the hooks: When fishing Halibut only Two hooks are permitted, but do NOT quote me and look it up yourself, you are allowed up to 3 hooks in the Bay if you were fishing for other species, but we generally use Two Hook setup since it covers all species without needing to remove a hook while fishing for halibut. Haha, my buddy and I go way back and we both have passion for fishing, losing fish is never fun, especially at the boat right before your eyes, I felt the pain too hehehe, We just could not keep fish on the hook this day didn't matter how quick we were, but the fishing was fire and so were the emotions for mental mistakes. We are making some adjustments for the next May 4th outting and you can bet we will be better prepared! Thanks for checking out the video
