We bought this for my FIL for Christmas, he hooked it up and it charged his batteries, but when he unplugs the charger from the wall, the lights on two of the three banks stay lit up. We exchanged it for another unit, but it does the same thing. I have been unable to contact the company directly, at this point I think it may be "user error", but the enclosed directions are not helpful. Can you please help me out? Are these lights supposed to remain on? My FIL thinks the LED lights remaining on will drain the battery.
@24ksportfishing23 күн бұрын
You are correct, I noticed the same thing with my unit. after a days charging the LED's stay lit but it does not appears to affect the usage, I put a multimeter on the battery and all the voltages are good, this tells me there is enough voltage to light up the LED's which sounds like a minor issue, I did notice this but only after a few charges and again does't impact the battery in any way just annoying for sure... the LEDs go out after about an hour on the water, very strange for sure

Isn’t there a force charge to manually start the charging on a ‘bad’ battery. Maybe by holding down the mode button for 5 seconds?
@24ksportfishingАй бұрын
This is from the products PDF when they provided me the unit to review When the battery is lower than 1V, it cannot be charged, the power indicator light is not on . You need to switch to suitable mode. Then press and hold the MODE button for 5s, the power red indicator will blink for 5 mins. If the activation is successful, it normal charging, the power indicator light is on
@24ksportfishingАй бұрын
If you cannot force a charge, might simply be a bad battery, also when in this mode, highly recommend you monitor the heat, if it gets too hot you should abandon it and get rid of the battery,

Correction on the Shark caught in this video: We believe it's a Soupfin Shark If any viewers are certain about this one, please comment and let us know if this is accurate, after research it's NOT a Thresher Shark which some viewers have mentioned which has different characteristics like large dark eyes, longer extended top tail fin and is generally Dark Grey with a white underside. Thanks for watching and we appreciate all the viewers that have already watch this fun outting.

You're brave to reach your arm down next to a shark. They do their death roll and things go sideways with lines, not to mention they bite if you touch them. Unless I can grip them behind their eyes (soft spot near their neck on top side), I don't touch them.

you are right brotha, this is the first large shark we caught and was not ready for handling this one. My buddy and I talked about this and now have to add Sharks of this size to the list of catches we now have to be prepared to release carefully, this sucker was so big and didn't want to sit still fighting us and too large for the Net, it was a difficult task despite what the camera shows, its a powerful creature, next time we will be way more prepared but obviously was not, thanks

Do you get any line twist trolling with those setups
@bobkane8803 ай бұрын
If we are careful and pay attention to line lengths we do don't get many....however that changes when you catch a good running fish, then all bets are off. This trip The captain and I did really good on very little tangles. The captain is pretty good on yelling at me to get my line distances correct. 😜
@bobkane8803 ай бұрын
as for the halibut rig itself you can get some twists if you let the rig fall to the bottom too fast so we like to control the descent with our thumbs on the bail to make sure it is a controlled fall.
@24ksportfishing3 ай бұрын
My buddy Bob replied but in agreement, line twist only comes in play when you use spinners, flashers and dodgers, but trolling live bait generally not an issue so long as you control speed to ensure its faster than the currents which leaves your 3 feet leaders behind the weight at all times and in any direction you are trolling
@FatBoyAngler3 ай бұрын
Great job. Nice quality of halibut. Question why don’t you use a gaff? Also I would suggest on getting a deeper net. Most of your catches barely fit in your net. Which is very nice. Great job 👏🏽. We will be out there for fleet week. I’ll look for you. Thanks for sharing. Tight lines

Is Duxbury no longer protected or are you passed the conservation area?
@24ksportfishing4 ай бұрын
That is great question! Duxbury Reef is an MPA that stretches about 1 mile from duxbury point north along the coast and shoreword 1000 feet the entire stretch along the coast clearly in the MPA Maps. We were fishing 14,000 feet from shore roughly 2 to 2.5 miles in about 40-50 feet of water, this is well away from shore and the MPA Zone. Thanks for asking such a great question, on this day the drift current was north east so we had adjusted to start a few miles offshore from it and avoiding entering the zone by a very long shot, we were never in danger of ever entering it.

Thank you for all those that are supporting the channel and the content will just get better as time goes on. We hope you are enjoying the channel and all the awesome KZbin Shorts with it. We have started posting more on Instagram so please make sure to follow that for the latest up to date stuff and things that can't make it into the video, it's a great place you can find extra cool content equally as entertaining ;-) Today we chose to work outside of the Golden Gate Bridge at the beginning of the icoming tide with swells getting better as the day progressed. We had about 10-12 second periods and about 2-3 feet swells nearly all day making it a fantastic day to scope out some areas along the Duxbury Reef in search of Lingcod, Rockfish, Halibut and anything else that might want to bite us. We had winds in our favor reaching no more than 5 MPH. These conditions are the norm during the calm fall months and is a reprieve from the often rough days we get during the summer just about anywhere inside or outside of the Golden Gates. We were able to find fish on the average scale but we did rope in some really nice Brown Rockfish and a mix of other species. We managed to find two hungry keeper size Halibut and a undersize one along with many big bites that didn't stick but it was pretty busy day of non-stop action along the Duxbury Reef For those that are new to this area, Duxbury Reef SMCA has some State Marine Protected Areas which are about 1 mile north of Duxbury Point and 1000 feet from shore all along that long northern stretch. Quick Reference for avoiding the area using GPS Boundary: This area is bounded by the mean high tide line, a distance of 1000 feet seaward of mean lower low water, and the following points: 37° 55.52′ N. lat. 122° 44.17′ W. long.; 37° 55.42′ N. lat. 122° 44.31′ W. long.; 37° 53.65′ N. lat. 122° 41.91′ W. long.; and 37° 53.77′ N. lat. 122° 42.02′ W. long. Our fishing grounds are well away from the MPA zones shoreward out 2 - 2.5 Miles or 14,000 feet away all along the Protected Areas. You can find the MPA Map from CDFW if you are even more curious about the zone

Can anyone give advice on a good all around baitcasting reel for me? Looking for a reel than can pretty much handle larger halibut to rockfish...don't have a budget for multiple reels ...was looking at the okuma komodo 300 ...too much reel?
@24ksportfishing4 ай бұрын
We don't do alot of casting the way we fish, so most of our setup is for Saltwater bottom bouncing and trolling with line counters mandatory. I had a lot of freshwater casting gear that I would swear by except it's not for salt so I can't recommend any casting stuff at the moment, but the stuff we are using for trolling and bottom bouncing have been money. the Okuma cold water line are all great for all but what your asking about sorry I have no recommendations, perhaps find another youtube channel that actually casts alot in the salt maybe you might get better reply that we could. sorry bud.

@24ksportfishing so you using strictly spinning reels? And thanks for the indepth response...rarely see that 🤙🏾
@24ksportfishing4 ай бұрын
@@xxkasperxx I think yes, mostly because we need line counters, not sure there is any reels that arent spinning with them. but long as is has line cunter built into it, it helps with the way we fish, dropping bottoms, and trolling...
