The tunnels are real, not fabled. I have friends who've been in some of them. My father and his friends used to walk through them before they closed them off. There's one of the entrances down by the navy base if they haven't put concrete over it. A set of concrete stairs going into a covered area and a big sheet of steel blocking the tunnel. It's little known, but there are tunnels going from Alexander Keiths brewery all the way up to Olands brewery which used to be Alexander Keiths property as well. I have a friend who worked at Keiths brewery and had been all through those tunnels, they go everywhere.

I can also confirm I have been in the tunnels myself when working for a contracting company, I can safely say they have not been maintained at all obviously.

I have been in another part of the same system of tunnels. See my comment above.

Theres a flooded tunnel that goes beneath the harbour to Georges island. Its long been a rumour, but its true. I've been on Georges island which is restricted to the public, there is a set of flooded out stairs that lead to the what remains of the tunnel.

@@Stevethelightingguy I've been on George's Island a few times for corporate events, believe it or not. It's riddled with snakes!

@@Stevethelightingguy The tunnels on Georges Island were restored and are open for tours. I guarantee the tunnel going under the harbour has been blocked by now. The entrance at Point Pleasant has been blocked since I mentioned it online (I regret that) The other known entrance at Point Pleasant has been blocked for years. There was a blocked entrance by Kieths Brewery, beside the stairs. Those stars were recently restored but were torn out and a new set put in that covers the tunnel entrance, for seemingly no reason other than to cover the tunnel entrance. All of the easily accessible tunnel entrances are disappearing, it would be nice to find some places where they're accessible from to get some pictures and video before they're hidden forever and the only trace of them ends up being sinkholes.

The tunnels were to transport prisoners to the old prison under grand parade square, and allow ships captains to move back and forth to citadel hill hidden from spies. The tunnels were deliberately never mapped to keep their locations secret. It worked so well we dont even know where they are!

The old prison was at the north end of Gottingen Street. It was called Rockhead. The cells under the parade square were holding cells for the court.

Wrong. These are water tunnels for power that have been altered and blocked off by the new powers. Citadel hill is not a fort. It’s a power station that stores water. Or was used for that by the previous humanity

@@Green-80 sorry bud, I'm literally standing on Citadel hill. Those tunnels are not for power or water

@@StevethelightingguyI thought citadel hill was essentially a front for a dangerous military defence that could be seen high in the sky, from a distance out at sea, giving illusion that a gigantic ship/sails were meeting any enemy in Halifax should they get too close. I don’t know what to believe hence trying to educate myself about Halifax history

Was just speaking about the underbround tunnels....tis more a concern where the 'hidden entrances' are located.

There are no tunnels. Ask any construction worker or geologist. With the technology of the day building them was simply impossible and with todays tech finding them would be very easy. There is nothing to find.
