May i ask what is the benefit of HHall effect joysticks versus the ones that came with the ALLY? does it have more resistance than the orignaly ALLY sticks?
@okestgamer Жыл бұрын
@@TheSignOfJonah so Hall effect sticks are not susceptible to the typical causes of joystick drift. Take joycons for an example. The sensors (potentiometer) get worn out or dirty (corroded sometimes), the Hall effect use magnets to detect input, so there isn’t a physical contact where a part wears down or gets dirty.
@TheSignOfJonah Жыл бұрын
@@okestgamer Thank you, Also i am wondering if the ones you installed (Hall effect) will have more resistance when moving them. Unfortunately i like more resistance on the sticks similar to that of the PS5. I play better FPS games with that type of resistance. The ALLY moves too easy and has low resistance. Does The Hall Effect stick you installed have more resistance than the original ALLy sticks? Also the best material for magnetic shielding is any ferromagnetic metal. This includes materials that contain iron, nickel, or cobalt. A magnetic field can be reduced by bringing another magnetic field that is stronger close to the original magnetic field which will cancel out the first field. This is often called magnetic shielding and it basically creates a second magnetic field in the same location that conducts a stronger fluctuation. Copper is one of the most effective materials used in RF shields. While copper can be relatively expensive, it provides highly effective conduction, absorption and attenuation of incoming RF signals. However i will give you a link that has a sheild that has a Chemical Composition of 80% Nickel, 5 % Molybdenum and 15% Ironlook. Look at this example: www.reddit.com/r/peakdesign/comments/ts51if/shielding_the_everyday_case_for_s22_ultra_to_use/ .. Another example kzbin.info/www/bejne/pYTalWOwmZmlgbM .. kzbin.info/www/bejne/aIaUoGlsl9iSh8k .. After watching those videos you can see why in theory you can layer two or three sheets of this material over the magnet at U7102 kzbin.info/www/bejne/aIaUoGlsl9iSh8k ,, then after that you can use this material to cover it very neatly www.amazon.com/MuMETAL-Magnetic-Shielding-Thick-Sheet/dp/B017ABFDP8/ref=sr_1_10?crid=16P5BJJOUGXPI&keywords=magnetic+shielding&qid=1687642876&refinements=p_72%3A1248921011&rnid=1248919011&s=industrial&sprefix=Magnetic+Shielding%2Cindustrial%2C77&sr=1-10#customerReviews .. Then after that you can use some extremely durable tape that will cure itself to the board with the additional heat from the device and is guranteed to hold in place the shield for the lifetime of the product. Yes, that’s what I was testing. Found sticks that work and found a way to make it work with some calibration. Next step will be to see if I can mitigate the interference
@rashaadadam3359 Жыл бұрын
I bought two of these and installed. The right stick works fine and there is no interference with the Hall effect trigger. Like the video the stick doesn’t quite reach the ends of the right circle but fixed this with the calibration tool in ASUS Armoury Crate. The left stick is a total no go for me. No matter what calibration setting I choose in Armoury Crate the trigger still interferes with the joystick . Also as an aside onexplayer for some unknown reason decided to declare my 30usd order for 109usd and I got charged handsomely by customs … a very expensive exercise and hope onexplayer can resolve this

What does hall effect mean?
@okestgamer4 ай бұрын
It's a magnetic sensor input rather than potentiometer (physical sensor that detects a metal arm that moves against the sensor) Hall effect has less chance to drift due to less physical wear and tear at least on the sensor

Hall effect cannot drift, at all. Any drift is due to software/firmware, there is zero hardware corrosion.

I’ve tried blocking at all angles, it can reduce, but does not eliminate. Part 2 I was able to use a magnet to counter the magnetic force and stop most interference. After I have learned that each ally seems to be slightly different, so some have had issues on the right stick as well.

My only issue I found is neither joystick will go fully on an angle to upper right. The system shows the joystick stopping halfway and not reaching the edge. Dead zone adjustments don't correct it and I'm not detecting any interference. I have a spare set of hall effect so I am going to try swapping them in, but this issue doesn't make a lot of sense to me. Anybody else seeing that issue.
@hpfuhl6 ай бұрын
As an update I got it pretty much worked put I had to adjust both the deadzone and outer threshold almost in sync. Once I did the circularity came down on both to 5.5-6% which was fairly good. I haven't noticed any issues in any games...Lies of P etc. But I don't really plan to play any shooters on this just JRPG, ARPG, and Soulsborne games.
