For a moment I wondered what the value of this collection would be, but I quickly realized it’s truly priceless!! Coolest collection I’ve ever seen.

Wow! I mean wow wow! What a place! Just to be in the presence of all that history of the worlds greatest game! If each cue could tell one story, that would be the greatest book ever 2cd to the Bible. Lucky guy!

Awesome footage. Wish you showed some of the cues at close up and bit slower. the camera goes rather quickly at times, however this place is truely amazing. Wish they had a real hall of Fame where all this would be displayed properly. Spotted my case at 15:40 belonging to Jack Breit. Mine must be close to 30 years old by now but still looking great and holds the shape. This collection is priceless

When I saw this collection, I was drooling. I own a Gus Szamboti cue that I had made by Gus in 1983. I had to pester Gus for nearly two years, since I'm not a "player". I would call Gus every 6 months for 2 years until he finally relented. My cue arrived on Valentines Day, 1983. $310 COD. Gus' last words to me were: "If you don't want the cue, send it back to me." I had a good chuckle to myself over his remark. At the time, I lived in Renton, Washington and used to shoot at the 211 Union Street Poolhall in Seattle. Owning a beautiful two-piece cue was a lifelong dream come true. To me, custom cues are the most beautiful pieces of functional art in the world.

Very Beautiful Collection. Simply awesome. You have any Bert Schrager cues? He came to my hometown looking for birds eye maple with his wife in his motorcycle. He made me 4 cues sticks total. Bert was a great cuestick man and in the HOF.

Balabushka, Szamboti, Rambow, Paradise, Palmer, Stroud, the who's who of old school cue makers. Didn't notice any Ginacues, but as fast as the camera was moving, I probably missed Ernie and many more. All in all, an amazing collection.

This is the most amazballs thing I’ve ever seen ever!!!!! Max I commented a while back on one of your videos - love your channel. Love to show you the room I built in my house . Day off - about to re-read some of books ray martin 99, Byrne stuff, do drills - listen to blues and jazz and play and enjoy with such an open heart and curious mind - love it. The history and artisanship in this video is soooo amazing and humbling.

I remember seeing Pete Glenn his dad, all over the United States , playing and gambling with people and always on the lookout for famous players cues, starting in the 1970s until the last time I saw him ,about 2000 he was at a place called Cornfed Reds, in Ohio , I had a bunch of pictures I had taken over the last 25 years of players and showed them to Denny , that is an amazing collection, the time it takes to find and then negotiate a deal on the stuff is enormous. I know I collected books and paper memorabilia , no cues , I didn't have the money for that. The sad thing is , there is no players union to try to buy the stuff as a collection, and the people who could afford it will never spend the money on pool stuff. Once the brothers are gone it will most likely be auctioned off and split back up. Which , if it is may be better than being in a room somewhere where only a select amount of people ever see it.

Take several good, sharp photos, describe how you got it, and post to AZ Billiards forum. Most likely it's nothing special, because people who own valuable cues sell or give them to pool players, and tell their history.
@ammoalamo64854 жыл бұрын
I'd love to see a series of videos, each covering a part of this collection. But make sure only the video guy and a pool announcer are involved, to avoid the distracting background talk in this one. Also, make sure the camera shows the tags and autographs all right-side-up, so we don 't have to try to read them upside down. You could even break it up further, and have each champion describe their own cues and cases, commenting on them individually. If the original user could not respond, try to get a close friend, or family member. The Rambo, Bushka, and other 50's era and before cues and balls would help educate people about the much different playing conditions of earlier eras. They should set up a table with mud balls, nappy felt, slow rails, wide pockets, all in a humid room, and let young people play with cues of that era. There was a big difference between then and now.

A quick jersey red story, this took place in Houston Texas early 80s pool hall called cornbreads, Franco a local legend walks over to Jersey red and says in his broken English (Jersey red you play me one pocket, jersey red looked at Franco and said I'd have to be dead for three days not to be able to beat you at any game of one pocket. True story

Focus, focus, focus! It's a shame there is so much shown so fast, much of it upside down, and all except some wall shots out of focus. Yes, we can see it's a magnificent collection, but the human brain needs some organization, not this rapid-fire run through a warehouse full of 'stuff'. Except for a very few areas where some time is spent, and it's in focus, this looks more and more like pool litter. In a way it is a dis-service to pool to have so much of its history hidden away under the control of one person. Does it make sense for one person to own 50 Balabushka cues, when only a few hundred survive anywhere in the world? The same goes for the rest of this collection. Why not break it up into smaller exhibitions, or even photo essays, each organized so people can get some context, especially how conditions and gear have changed over time. Sometimes less is more. When autographed cue balls are "collected" in overflowing trashcans, that's too much.

It is amazing to see all this Pool History all in one place but its also extremely sad to see all this history in one place. These cues and everyting else here was bought from flat broke pool LENEGDS of the game. Either that or it was bought from the offspring of flat broke players who passed away. he has PJ Pucketts HAT? Tournament jackets?? So much more stuff that he should not have. He probably calls the family members breaking their balls "no pun intended" until they cave and sell off the stuff.
@PalidicoVermingagurania7 ай бұрын
Old cues don’t actually have a lot of value…hence this collection
