Great interview! Great player but a better person! Grand mother and mom did a wonderful job raising Charles. We about same age i have been watching charles since college crazy i seen this great person for close to 40yrs.He Tells like it is powerful voice in our country

Charles is great. I have never heard the story of his father but I think it shows how strong of a person charles is. A lot of people would have held on to that anger their whole lives but it sounds like Charles made peace with the situation.

This is show is a trip. Bob Meyers is not trying play "host" or "journalist" or "media personality". He's just having a conversation and it works because it's real. He's not even dropping the podcast name, or asking people to hit the like button or anything like that. The man is authentic and a big reason for why the dubs culture is the way it is. I really hope they keep him but it may be a foregone conclusion already

I think it's a wrap if he leaves...at least long term

@@chuckgamble5696 whaaaat? You mean Kirk Lacob might not be as good as the two time exec of the year? :) I will say if Bob really was looking for a new contract I seriously doubt he'd be doing this podcast. The dude is very smart and he knows in order to get the best deal possible he should show how dedicated he is to his job and building the next championship warriors generation. My read on the situation, he doesn't want to do it anymore. He wants to be an awesome dad and be present and available for his wife and kids.

I’ve always been on the fence about Charles but after watching this I’m definitely on his side of the fence. What a good man and he is a roll model.

I wonder why nobody talks about Dr J... He was the first modern superstar, was idolised by MJ's generation
@JJ_5289 Жыл бұрын
Former players/coaches all talk about how great Dr J was. But I think the league and the media don't bring a lot of attention to that Era of the league in general. You had the aba and the NBA. The league was not doing well financially. Drugs were prevalent throughout the league and so were fights. A lot of different teams won titles and it was hard to Market one team or rivalry until magic/bird came along. You hear about russel and chamberlain a lot because they dominated so much and the NBA loves to market the rivalry

Notice Charles did not mentioned Dr J, whom he played with at Philly. Dr J put NBA back in the map when he went from ABA to NBA. I believe Dr J was not serious about the game on his way out and Charles was hungry to get a ring.

Bob Myers suck as a g.m., he's gotten lucky, he didn't draft Steph or Klay, without them he wouldn't be looked at as a good g.m., he's picks have been terrible over the years, the warriors should look for another g.m.
@Oioisavaloy Жыл бұрын
Drafted Dray (second round), Barnes, Loon, JP (second round), JK (has potential to be a star). Hired Kerr × 4 Chips Got KD to the Dubs × 2 Chips Got Wiggs (who prior was considered a bust) × 1 Chip 2 × Exec of the year Along with Steph and Kerr, completely created the culture that everyone who plays there loves (that team was known for having an awful culture before. Even through Steph's first two seasons). Signed Livingston, Iggy, GPII, Porter Jr etc, etc. Also, just so that you're aware, GM's do a lot more than "drafting" 😂 You know not what you say.
