LOL... Pedro flips the switch at 7:14 And pity the batter -- even Jackie Robinson -- who gets the "whoo whoo" from Pedro as well.

How about Don Newcombe's 1955 batting line. As a pitcher, he hit .359 with 7 homers and a 1.029 OPS in 125 plate appearances.

Did Pedro imply he would scoff the ball?
@tkillcoin
@tkillcoin 3 жыл бұрын
He's saying he would throw above his head, or at least knock him back. It's vintage Pedro intimidation.
@adoniscruz2807
@adoniscruz2807 3 жыл бұрын
Nah, based on the grips and gestures he did, he implied his circle change, curve, cutter, and 2-seam would be ready from jump, instead of easing them in as the game goes on. And like Torrance said, if he needs the inside fastball chest high he would do that too lol
@pplRretards
@pplRretards 2 жыл бұрын
@@tkillcoin I think Pedro being 5'11' and 170 to 190 lbs in his career would be intimidating asf to me lol I never got it when ppl would say the big 6'7" guys and 6-10 guys was so intimidating cause to me being that big and having those long arms isnt any where near as crazy as a guy like Pedro, Colon, Kimbrel or Lincecum all under 6 feet tall and generating so much power is just ridiculous!

Ima say something that will piss a lot of people off...Jackie Robinson skills as a player are extremely overrated. I get it, first black guy in the mlb... but I can name so many other black baseball players that were WAYYYY better than him.

@@ussbridgefour4666 so you would say he's in the top 3 black baseball players ever? Because I don't even know if I can include him in my top 5...
@ussbridgefour4666
@ussbridgefour4666 3 жыл бұрын
@@sc_row Thats complicated though. He lost years of his prime to segregation and probably lost production near the end do to diabetes. Like at his peak he was the near the best player in baseball which is says a lot since the other dude is Ted fucking Williams, so obviously mays was better, Aaron had the longer more consistent career so I'd be fine with that. Bonds is well complicated. It all depends on what you looking at and valuing he is probably a top all time 2nd basemen him and Morgan mostly because of his glove. I wouldn't say that they're are any players that were so much better then him though(I do recognize that is likely hyperbole). But I think this stuff is hard to think of we have very little game footage. Thats the thing about baseball is player that's great and I mean truly great like would automatically be a top five player right now might not be the best at their position baseballs history is rich. I do think Robinson's skill is underrated as you're comment isn't the only one I've seen like this. He wasn't the best player from the negro leagues but that doesn't mean he wasn't a no doubt HOFer and talented as heck. Think of him as Mookie Betts just an infielder.

And personally I find top 5 or 10 list really reductive within baseball. Seeing as theirs 9 different positions and stuff.
