That is not true at all
@marcusrodriguez99922 жыл бұрын
@@fashionlife5348 If a shop is waiving your deductible, let’s say $250, they are NOT going to take a $-250 loss on the repair. The profit margins in auto body are too narrow. They will simply NOT perform $250 worth of repairs. For ex, the appraisal from insurance may say to replace a bumper cover…shop will simply repair and refinish part to cover the expense of “waiving” your deductible. I have seen it countless times. Furthermore, if they are not doing $250 worth of repairs, why not neglect do another $100 or $200 worth of repairs further increasing their profit margin. If you as customer complain to your ins, you’re screwed as the decision to find a shop to “waive” your deductible was yours. IF you do find a shop to “waive” your deductible and still do all the work shown on the insurance appraisal, they will not be in business long as it’s not feasible to take a consistent $100-$500 loss on every insurance claim they repair

We did find a few people who had broad form and didn't realize it so we got their deductibles waived but I wouldn't put a neon up stating that lol ..... About the only ways we could cut down people's deductibles we're to use cheaper parts or not reinstall some accessories but In those cases the customer would have to settle with the insurance company directly then pay us once they got the check because we weren't going to invoice that we did work we didn't do. Nicole's car at 1:00 certainly looks more than $2,000 in damage. Just to replace the exploding airbags would cost more than that, and I'm not including the two smashed in passenger side doors , possible frame damage, etc., from being t-boned. More than likely, that car (that looks to be an approximately 2010 Ford Escape) would have been declared a total loss by the insurance company, if she had collision insurance. The guy just took advantage of her. "Give me $2,000 and I'll take of it." Sure.
@Glock7eventeen2 жыл бұрын
I'm an appraiser and that is 100% a total loss. No question about it. 90% of cases where the airbags are popped will be totalled, even if the exterior damage doesn't seem too bad.

I actually took our car to his shop back in November of 2018. Didn't get it back until Feb of 2019. He seemed cool at first, until he started lying to us about the progress of our vehicle. I'm not surprised he ended up on the news. I suppose me and the wife are lucky to have gotten our car back, but I feel so bad for all of these customers. Smh his paint guy was telling me while I was cashing out that he hasn't been the same since his brother died a few years ago. Still no excuse to be a crappy person.

For the people outside of Michigan who can't understand how this guy is not in jail, this is common business practice in the State, not just car repairs, but home repairs as well. The number of convictions means nothing and it's nearly impossible to recover any monies owed to you as you can clearly see. Not having a driver's license is not uncommon in Detroit and not having auto insurance is very common. If you want to open a crooked business, then Michigan is your State.

So what good is the complaint kit? Doesn't seem anyone is doing anything about this guy. He has judgements against him but doesn't pay and has a conviction record but is running around free. He has no driver's license but is still driving. The State is aware of his crimes but does nothing about it. Seems the only one benefiting from this story is the news channel that is documenting this with no real solution except a story to air.
