Well even though I am not an iPhone fan, that shot of Jesus and Mary (Magdeline) is the best composition wise overall. The tarot dog shot looks more AI than real, plus why is there a pole sticking out of the dogs head? Photography 101 - always watch your background and change angles! The diner shot with the musician has some potential I think if the composition was changed a bit perhaps, and maybe he actually was playing the instrument in the booth.

I find my newer iPhone has far less 3D pop than my older one... you can get good shots but it's very temperamental... probably too much AI stuff going on for it make a choice fast enough... and you can not predict it's set itself for a good shot... the old one can make the edges look a bit artificial at times but at least it's consistent and has a bit more 3D pop... maybe the they did the same with the glass as name brand have with their updated lens's where they have limited it's potential instead of increasing it

i got a xiaomi phone with a reasonably big sensor and just take raw photos and found an app that allows me to do exposure bracketing so i can make an hdr (or even hdr panorama) in lightroom. you can get ridiculous image quality out of it. and in relatively close up stuff you even get background blur. its genuinely a surprisingly competent landscape and architecture camera

@ the iPhone is not awful and still good photos with blurr and everything, but they are just not so fast acting… I for a phone camera it’s important to have fast shot abilities… so only really got another iPhone for the camera… it’s better all over than the previous but brought a iPhone 12 mini for my friend and when testing it out remembered how much easier it is to get a good shot… obviously with photography you want you skill to be necessary… but for a phone for daily use, you need very quick point and shot without have to considerate so much. And the old one does have a bit more pop.. pop is not background blur… it’s how 3D thing appear to be… once you see it and understand you know what it is
