Wow! Loved it. I've seen various Churches live concerts. Most performances are restrained or conservative limiting to vocal singing. I guess, because the church is a place for praying. Except for the funny Sister Act movies, this video cooperation is unique. He was inducted into The Roll 'n' Roll Hall of Fame in 2008. This not meant to be a religious song. According to Spinditty, a website that interprets song meanings, this song is "a bitter lament about love and loss. Cohen, adept in scripture, simply taps the human condition described in the bible in order to provide counsel to the brokenhearted". I hope understanding more about the songwriters thoughts makes you feel a little better. Cohen certainly had no intent to insult your faith.
