In memory of Jeff Buckley. For the love of music and freedom.
Work inspired by Jeff Buckley, Kurt Nilsen, Valentina, and Rammstein. Special thanks to Dimitri and Anthony for always sharing great music! ♫(☼◕‿◕)♫
Lyrics:
I heard there was a secret chord
that david played and it pleased the lord
but you don't really care for music, do you
well it goes like this the fourth, the fifth
the minor fall and the major lift
the baffled king composing hallelujah
hallelujah...
well your faith was strong but you needed proof
you saw her bathing on the roof
her beauty and the moonlight overthrew you
she tied you to her kitchen chair
she broke your throne and she cut your hair
and from your lips she drew the hallelujah
hallelujah...
baby i've been here before
i've seen this room and i've walked this floor
i used to live alone before i knew you
i've seen your flag on the marble arch
but love is not a victory march
it's a cold and it's a broken hallelujah
hallelujah...
well there was a time when you let me know
what's really going on below
but now you never show that to me do you
but remember when i moved in you
and the holy dove was moving too
and every breath we drew was hallelujah
well, maybe there's a god above
but all i've ever learned from love
was how to shoot somebody who outdrew you
it's not a cry that you hear at night
it's not somebody who's seen the light
it's a cold and it's a broken hallelujah
hallelujah...

Words and music are beautiful. Very gently and sensuality in the beginning. And then solemnly. This music makes us feel. This is important. For the love of music and freedom...Thank you, hallelujah...

What an interesting creative combination of Beethoven and Leonard Cohen. Now that is creativity at its most imaginative process in your heart and mind. That is what I noticed about your piano playing, is your renditions are total all your own. That is one of the reasons I love your music. No one plays like you. What a beautiful piece of art/music.

Oops. Accidentally pressed post to early. This is perfection in its finest... The way you go from Beethoven to Leonard Cohen with such little effort... and make it sound professional at the same time... Flawless.

OMG Annellie. That has to be one of the most beautiful things I've ever heard in my life. Two of my favorite songs of all time blended into a powerhouse of emotion. I have goosebumps all over now. As I told you, I have been slowly moving backward listening to your collection. This one is pure, shimmering gold. Beethoven meets Buckley. Bravo to you my dear :-)

I'm so so happy I found this. I bet you had a blast :) I wish my piano teacher had allowed me more freedom with mixing songs and making them my own, instead of insisting they be played exactly as the composer wrote them. You're an inspiration to me.

This is beautiful. I love your arrangement and your touch has a real subtlety to it. Would I be wrong in guessing that you're classically trained :p ? I've also played a Schimmel... they're amazing pianos aren't they? Definate Favourite!

There's something about hearing a song by Jeff Buckley in a Richard Clayderman style mixed with a bit of Beethoven that makes me uneasy. Still a good effort.
