I just got gifted one with the matching vfo. Replacing bad parts is non trivial for me but i am paranoid of the 1960s lack of safety using no fusing and no ground pin. My ht40 lacks room by the line cord for anything. The leads on the filter inductors are short short. Looks like it had some work maybe in the 80s done. I see some modern ish diodes by one of the 40uf caps. Need to see if i can find some replacement inductors. I really like your iec input idea. Is that just a simple aerospace aluminum nibbler? Seen em. Never used em.

"period insulation wire" then nibbling the chassis to install a snap-in IEC power socket? 😢
