Thanks for this video. When reassembling the gears I made the same mistake as you, reversing the gear arm. After about 30 minutes of scratching my head I stumbled on your video. Thanks!

I've watched you videos multiple times. They're so helpful and I really appreciate you creating and sharing them with the KZbin worlld. *Could tell me where I can find the seals used for the gear box components? My saw is from the mid 1950's and the gearbox looks very similar to yours. I have no idea how to size these gaskets or bearings. I noticed you might have used a brand "CR Seals" but my eyes roll back in my head looking through that website (lol). I have no idea what to look for. Also, any pointers on the bearings as well. Thanks!

I may actually do this same job on an extremely similar model. Would you care to post your resources. Like where you bought bearings and tires from, the type of gaskets and other suggestions for before i get started.

Upper wheel: 87502 (2x) Lower wheel: 87504 (2x) Blade guide thrust bearings: 6200 (2x) Gear case: 87016 (4x) Input shaft oil seal: CR6229 (1x) These are for the saw with the lever selector only. If you have the newer push knob on the pulley they will be different. I bought from the cheapest multiple suppliers online. The gasket was handmade from a piece of gasket paper. Tear down is relatively straight foreward and you can find some parts lists and parts breakdowns online with a quick search.

@@Halligan142 i pulled it inside just now. It is different. A pull knob on the upper wheel. I can see a lovejoy half. Might be missing parts. Wont spin up in the wintery garage. Motor is tired. Will probably spin up in the morning when it warms. Blade came off easy, its tires are worn and old, it leaks oil, stuck in metal cutting speed reduction. Needs minimal guard repairs. Casting says late 1969 but. And a brass property tag for cornelius eng. Center, inc. Should i quit now and sell it? I would like a horizontal and my space is near maxed. Paid 2 or 300 i think in a package deal with a 2 piece set of manual sheet metal brakes i needed at the time.

Did you create a video on removing the gearbox? I am having trouble removing it so there must be a trick??

Was there supposed to be a gasket between the plate and housing for the gearbox? That band saw looks beautiful. I can tell you have put a lot of hours getting it ready for this stage. Wishing you and your loved ones a Merry Christmas and an incredible New Year.

Just a gasket between the gearbox and saw oil well. That back plate has a hole in the bottom to allow the oil in.
