You should first mill off the long side of the holder straight and mill off the foot of the stand at an exact angle to the long side. This way the error is smaller and you only have to correct a little on the long side.

Hey! I recognize the price on that vise! Thanks for the tip long ago on that store--I have found some bargains there. BTW I have found that denatured alcohol will remove that price marking.

FYI, the dimension you were looking for is on the drawing, the upper left corner image has it, 2 inches.
