I use Steve's technique most of the time except during the "chords sequence", I hit the note just before the chord with my thumb as a slapper would do. Steve doesn't.
The bass-drum gimmick just after the solo was performed live with Nicko and not on the album wtih Clive. Even though you may hear the root of it emerging from the feeling in all members. I decided to show it here for it is a wonderful extra. We do it with the band "'Made Of Iron".

Walked into a band practice in 1988 I think. The singer didn't show so I jumped in and played bass and sang for them. We played an unrehearsed version of this song. It blew us all away how cool we sounded together. I kinda thought for a second that we would start a new band but I never played with them again.

=) Thanks a lot!! It´s late but I can´t stop listening and watching Maiden .Tomorrow is holiday in my country so I can enjoy a bit tonight...and get back to practice..! Your bass covers are truly awesome...I listen to Maiden since a teen and they ´re near perfect!The other thing I adhere is the choice you make to play certain parts... My son, who also plays Maiden , and other ones making great covers here, use other places over the fretboard to play the same notes..But I feel the sound of these sound as close as Harris sounds...
