He wore Sears Tradewear coveralls and they are Tex Green (but good luck finding those) and Vietnam jungle boots. Keep in mind he took them from a mechanic and they were dirty with oil and faded already. And they used blue backlight to mimic moonlight in night scenes so it washed out the green color.

I was reading in some forums somewhere and I did find out of course that it was 100% confirmed that the original coveralls were Sears tradeware tex green but if you look around and I can't remember where I seen it it says clearly that they were a (gray saturated) green. There are several scenes in the original obviously that they stand out differently due to lighting at times they even stand out a bit black in brighter light. My favorite reference though is when the bullies are running away from Tommy Doyle the kid runs into Michael and Michael grabs him by the shoulders. That's a good up close picture with great lighting and they clearly stand out more of a gray than a green. I would say you're on the right track here. I had some vintage '70s Sears coveralls that were a darker gray and were already dirtied up pretty good and they looked absolutely flawless to the original. Unfortunately they disappeared at some point and I've had to replace them with newer cover all since then but all that being said I think you've got a great idea here by taking an olive green color and saturating it in gray dye.b

Great video dude! Question: did you use the whole bottle of dye? I just got a pair of Big Macs but they’re a tad too green. I wanna try my hand at dyeing them. Also people say to get the other solution to protect the color when washing. Do you use that too?

I did just find a picture of the catalog showing the original Sears tradeware coveralls and they are labeled as text green and in quotations describing that color it says gray green

In the '78 school scene they look green, which is what people are saying was the real color of the o.g. coveralls. Tex Green. When you change the lighting on a pair of those they seem blue. However, I've seen a pair of charcoal grey do both the blue and green look depending on yet again the lighting so you're right, confusing af. 😅 Funny thing is the crew on the film all have different answers about the color but they we're probably a bunch of dopesmoking hippies, lol, and it's been 40+ years so I don't blame 'm. But I started out with blue ones before the internet, then went to the green but I'm leaning towards the grey these days cause it has the both colors in it. Ah well, guess you're going to have to figure it out for yourself. 😁

Michael Myers coveralls was never blue they were always charcoal gray except for Halloween ll, they looked blue under the blue lighting.

They were actually Sears Tradewear and they are Tex Green. They aren’t grey or blue.

Good video, I like that you went with the subtle look and the way you wanted it to look. Myers looks so different in different scenes/movies/lighting that you almost have to pick a specific scene to replicate. Think I'll just use some light paint like this on my new lifesize's coveralls. I've used real oil and grease in the past and while it looked great, it rubs off and gets on everything. It's a balance between realism and being realistic.

Probably 65% polyester, 35% cotton, most of them are.

You can see all of the steps in the video, you just have to follow the instructions on the bottle of dye.

JJC wore charcoal, meanwhile nick castle wore tex green (i think)

@ooshadow-ravenoo525 Naw. No way they were "tex-green". Castle never wore green. They were charcoal (or a charcoal blue). Not a drop of green lol. Read an interview, in the new movies Castle and Courtney both wore charcoal (charcoal blue).

@@CaptainKirkDiggler Okay buddy. Believe what you wish. They were in fact Sears Tradewear and they were 100% for a fact Tex Green. I was able to talk with a lot of the film members at a VIP meet and greet and they even said so and so the Nick Castle himself. So if you want to “think” you know better than the man who wore them then feel free. 🤣 FYI.. you can clearly see how green they are in the scene where Tommy smashes his pumpkin and the bully (Richie) runs and bumps into him.

78 his coveralls are black not really that faded you can tell when he’s on the sidewalk behind Laurie as she’s walking , and also the hedge scene and at the school when He’s following Tommy , Tony Moran said in a interview the coveralls were black and the boots were like a military jungle boot green and black
