I’ve always enjoyed this one. On its own I can see how it’s disappointing and not as eventful as the other sequels but I’ve always watched it right after the original for one big continuous film and I think it ends the story pretty nicely without overly explaining Michael’s motives. There is some obvious differences with Laurie’s hair, the kills being way more over the top than the original and Dick Warlock’s performance being different than Nick Castle’s. It definitely feels like it was more inspired by the slasher films at the time than the original Halloween itself in my opinion, I know john carpenter hates the movie and has said he was drinking while making the script but his half hearted attempt wasn’t nearly as bad as it could have been in my opinion.

@@ChrisBrockYT It's definitely not the worst sequel in this timeline (1 to 8) and I do get it that sequels normally are not as good as the original movie. I also get it that John Carpenter hates this sequel with a passion. I still was hoping he would have given us a better script. The director of this sequel came back to do Halloween: Resurrection many years later. I would prefer 10 out of 10 times to watch Halloween 2 over Resurrection anyday. I think the movie ends perfectly. I do agree with you about it being inspired by other slasher movies than the original film. Truthfully, I don't want to know how much worse the movie could have been.
