True! You always hear about the early versions of these later Halloween sequels and say "I wonder what they are? Gotta be better than what we got!" (Though I love 4 & 5--I will not repent! 6 is blah though) Well, now we know--we actually got the best they could do! The early drafts of H5 sound terrible--and even if you do think it's an interesting take that doesn't mean it would make a good movie. There's a early draft of H6 floating around (pre-Farrands) and it is awful--Michael a homeless man? (Well, he kinda is anyway but he was full on hobo here) Judith's grave being a gateway to hell? Suddenly the Thorn Cult doesn't seem so bad! I even read Dennis Etchinson's early H4 draft, back when Carpenter was still involved in the series, and it's interesting to read but would've made a bad movie. So, yeah, it may not seem like it but we actually got the best H4, 5, and 6 they could offer up!

Halloween 5 has another example of Michael not really wanting to kill Loomis. The knife slash he give him during the climax clearly was not a killing blow. Much like the scalpel wound he gave Loomis during the climax of Halloween 2. I think he had a soft spot for Loomis because Loomis had showed him respect.

Loomis pretty much raised him and showed him attention. he was Michaels only friend for most of his life, even though Michael didn’t talk to him. Loomis was more of a father figure to him, so yeah it was hard for him to kill Loomis no matter how much Loomis wanted to kill him.

greg garner Michael wanted to break the curse. I’m not sure if you remember but that sign burned onto Michael wrist was a curse mark. and it connected him to his family. His sister, his niece, his nephew. more so his sister and niece. His niece could literally see and feel what he saw and felt. his goal was to kill them all to rid him of the curse. why don’t you mention the fact that he used to get kidnapped by the dudes that gave him the curse? they used to put a bag over his head and throw him in the truck and take him to where his niece was. why not mention that? why didn’t he kill them? why didn’t he kill the guy that broke him out of jail?

greg garner tbh they just need to have Rob Zombie remake them all. he went more in depth and his story made more sense. i watched part of the latest Halloween and it showed Loomis as the bad guy right before Michael killed him. i immediately stopped watching and haven’t seen the full movie.

greg garner i think what they had a hard time figuring out was how to make a Halloween movie that didn’t tie into Michael going after his family members. they basically sold the idea that Michael only wants to kill his sister so as long as that was their idea, they couldn’t kill any of the characters and kept bringing everyone back but trying to change the story which is impossible. i didn’t think Halloween was broken but they would’ve found success if they just made Michael a Halloween spirit that haunts the people of Haddenfield every Halloween. that would’ve made it more simple and gave them other cast members that could’ve been the protagonist instead of having his sister or niece star in every film.

I always believed that the character of Tina in Halloween 5 should have instead been written to be Lindsey Wallace. It would have made a lot more sense considering we saw Lindsey briefly in Halloween 4 as Rachel’s friend who picked Jamie up with her after school to go shopping for a Halloween costume. It also would have made more sense for it to be Lindsey since we saw Tommy Doyle return as the main character in Halloween 6. Tommy could have essentially followed Jamie’s story as he did and known what became of Lindsey.

What I think could be cool in another universe of Halloween is have Michael once he's shot all to hell and this would be a sequel is Michael would become more human and have him in this constant battle like split personality like a Jekyl and Hyde and he could actually be vocal and speak with Loomis and be like Loomis fucking lock me up and Michael could call Loomis after he comes back around but his voice is low and raspy and creepy I feel there's a lot that could be done , Michael battling the killer side while back in custody or while he's out in the world , not that it matters but I think it would interesting to hear what he'd say after years of silence and murder and the turmoil of now becoming more human

Intersting story the guy pitched to akkad. Michael is free from the evil inside of him and dies then comes back to life thru electricity and has the characteristics of a Frankenstein monster. I feel like, if the Akkad's had gotten the director of Halloween 4 to come back and do 5, then maybe, MAYBE, Halloween 5 may have gone a lot more smoothly in terms of production, and overall it would've been a much better film than what we ended up with. Oh, and if they had somehow been able to reuse the H4 mask. I know it's not the best of the Myers masks but it would've been loads better than the "Not-Michael" mask in H5. (The h5 mask looks nothing like Myers, in my opinion.) Anyway, sorry about my rambling, LoL.

I actually kind of dig this idea. If you had Myers as an empty vessel, neither good nor evil, but he encounters aggression and hostility throughout the film, it would be interesting if those encounters triggered evil within him by the end of the film. You would basically have a social commentary which states that the very essence of human nature, to be hostile and aggressive, is what led to Myers' evil essence.
