I remember this story a little differently. I heard back then that Tarantino wrote his idea for the movie out for Moustapha, and when he read it, he threw it across the room. When that got back to Tarantino, he said he was done. On a side note: as an 80's guy, it's awesome that Anthony Michael Hall has been cast to play Tommy Doyle in Halloween Kills!!

Q.T. is hands down the best at capturing how people interact thru conversation and making said conversations interesting, funny, surreal and fun to watch.lots a directors try an mimic it but it comes off looking like a fake Rolex. Halloween 18' tried it a little in the scene w the 2 cops rapping about their lunch, did you catch it ? Came of strange an weird like my uncle Seymour. This would have been a very interesting concept however I still think that the script for Halloween returns is the movie that should have been made. I have read the script about 4 times and I think it is excellent. If they could have made that movie with a few minor tweaks to the script and brought the feeling of the atmosphere that was in Halloween 4 it would have been a homerun.

You're missing one part of this. At one point, Quentin was going to take Michael Myers into space. There is a documentary called "Halloween: 25 Years Of Terror" where they briefly talked about it. Allot of the stuff you just said was new to me. I have no idea how the discussion went from 666 to outer space... Also, I think an outline existed or exists that was written by QT.

I can say I like the producers cut for what it is. I probably over think that ending but I have the perspective that Tommy Doyle ends his curse with those stones and thats why he lets him go and when dr Wynn goes to Michael you see him clinch his fist really hard and I take it that now he is free and I assume gives him a lethal blow which is why he transfers the Guardian role to Loomis so with that in mind I can only wonder that Michael's evil is gone ? And if loomis is his new caretaker theres no way he'd allow Michael to do bad so I always thought there was an open possibilty to go anti hero ? I always thought that was a nice twist that could be fresh. I know it would change the tone intensely but I could see Michael getting revenge on the cult of thorn for all the family hes killed

I'd just recently watched Reservoir Dogs and I thought he would make a better Halloween movie. Other then Tarantino, Dimension Films and Miramax should've asked Martin Scorsese or Steven Spielberg to direct Halloween VI because if you had seen the movies those two made, they would make a great Halloween film. Instead of Christopher Walken, it would have been Robert De Niro, Al Pacino or Liam Neeson as the mysterious Man in Black. De Niro would have said, "Well, what did I miss?"
