It use to be mostly for children here. It seems though as our generation grew up we brought it with us. Just too much fun to leave behind.

It all started with the Celts over 2000 years ago. Seems that Irish and Scottish immigrants had a large influence on it being so big in the states. That's why I'm surprised it's not known well in Australia. Today, for adults here, it's more of a time for airing out alter egos and having fun doing it. Thanks Geoff.

I've been coming to the block party since 1991 when it was a gay event. Every year it has gone down hill by baby stroller,ma & pa with the kids and the pets. Even grandma. I have talked to several others who voided this event this year and will continue doing so till we get the block back. Alot of the costumes are not for everyone to see. Some should be banned or even x rated.That I don't agree with..Babys or a little kid should be home.Dogs should be HOME!! Bring back the REAL BLOCK PARTY!
