Hi a friend of mine went to Salem this time of year & was insane & too crowded ,now she goes in Sept ,before all the madness starts ,thanks for sharing ,

Yes it gets VERY busy particularly in October on the weekends. There is a fair bit in September now too.

Every town needs to be known for something, but Salem during Samhain has really turned into a cosplay freakshow. Don't get me wrong, I love cosplay freak shows, but because it's now an event like Universal Halloween Horror Night, the original history and intrigue of Salem's past is lost amidst the costumes, vendors, and vanity/influencers and social media creators.

Salem is becoming the hub of modern day Halloween. It needs to keep expanding so the experience becomes undeniable. Salem's history isn't being lost, it's being re-purposed. Salem's history may have nothing to do with modern Halloween, Samhain or anything else, but it's history and injustices have led it to becoming what it is today. Embrace the modern day folklore being created. Also, people dressed up in masks and costumes on historical Samhain itself.
