I use to live in Salem back in 1981-1984. I don't remember the city doing this back then . Not saying they didn't but don't remember these activities to this extent . But it's a good thing they're hosting such an event annually there. I lived on the road that you could drive on from Salem into Beverly . I use to go to Reds breakfast and lunch restaurant which is or was next to the Salem Police station and there was also a firehouse right near there then. I also use to walk right past the old Parker Bros. Plant on the same street I lived on there in Salem . I believe it was Bridge Street if my memory is correct. The mall back then was called the East India mall. There use to also be a great Chinese restaurant there at the mall too. And the old Beef & Oyster house on Riley plaza was there back then too as the Pickering Warf
