I think the bare stores are due to shipping delays. I've had vendors at work tell me they're not getting stuff in because all the stock is stuck in shipping containers at the ports. So it's taking a couple months for those to get sorted through and then there is a shortage of freight drivers so nothing is getting delivered on time! I bet we'll be seeing more stock within the month.

I’m so bummed about the stores around me too. I, too, can’t tell if they are selling out of stuff before I can get to it or if they aren’t getting shipments at all. The Tj Maxx/Marshall’s/ Homegoods situation is getting sad too, all the same stuff I’ve seen since July and the new stuff coming out is just not my vibe. Ugh. Hopefully it gets better, we still have a couple months🤞

I really want the Toxic Pumpkin Tonic bottle from Michaels, because, see, I’m allergic to pumpkins so that’s basically ALL pumpkins to me lol. (And those fake foam pumpkins are the best thing, I painted one copper, put it on an R.C. car and gave it little robot arms. Steam-punkin!)

I agree with the vibe of kinda boring for signs/wall decor that is too clean. I love the worn/lived-in feel. It does seem like some of the offerings can easily be DIY'd with a cricket machine

If you want a decently sized and priced Halloween tree, Lowe’s has an AWESOME one for $29.99! I got it last year and they have it again this year. It’s made out of a heavy duty plastic material, has purple/black lights built in and takes AA batteries. The batteries last forever in it too. I’ll try to find a link for you!

I think the problem for retailers is manufacturing and shipping delays from Asia where much of this stuff is made. They have continued to have problems with closures due to Covid.

I know it's still early in the season, but Halloween is just not hitting the same this year as it was last year. I've been pretty disappointed in the lack of stories too. I get that production probably has been compromised some what due to COVID-19. It's just unfortunate, but again.. maybe it's still too early.

I think that's a big part of it too - a lot of the stuff we got last year was greenlit before the pandemic, but this year a lot of things are scaled back as a result.

Didn’t know if you posted yet but the tjmaxx I went to that has the expensive jewelry island had Betsey Johnson Halloween jewelry. I bought a jack o lantern necklace and a charm bracelet. Prices were good for what they were I think 38 dollars total for both I haven’t bought much yet either.

Everything is very much a hit and miss at most of the stores this year ! For vintage I’ve found a few wonderful pieces but right when they’re putting them out and there’s only two of them ! Joanna’s put the whole line out at mid to late July ! So it was gone before the 40% off even occurred! Michaels just started putting out this past week and I got some gorgeous pieces on the apothecary line (AZ) ! Working more for a more sophisticated look instead of cuteness! Not easy to do cuz there’s not that much out there ! Martha Stewart has some great pieces coming out at Homegoods that I’ve picked up ! Hopefully we’ll see more goodies in the coming weeks ! My local Joann was super empty. I ended up purchasing online everything. My local Marshalls looked like Halloween gnomes had taken over. Homegoods is my next adventure (WISH ME LUCK). I am so ready to start decorating. The Target Hyde and Eek line from the last few years has been amazing. Haven't seen anything that really intrigued me this year.

I'm pretty bummed about stuff this year. It seems the few things I have seen that I really want sell out immediately, and all that's left is gnomes. Gnomes as far as the eye can see. I really wanted that pumpkin street lamp that Target had up for like 3 seconds before it sold out, and the glow in the dark ghost candle holder from B&BW.

My favorite finds that I was not expecting 1.the male bust candle holder. 2. Rae Dunn witch hat chip and dip holder, 3. a mug cauldron with a witch hat globe on top. My most unusual find was at the beginning, I got a black metal pumpkin with spider webs etched into, the candle holder part is oil spill. I haven't seen it in anyone's hauls.

Oh, loving more pastel goth. I couldn't find any floral skeletons last year at Michaels. The embracing skeletons are my favorite. We're planning on renovating our basement, I want a nice spooky burlesque vibe for the bar area. Definitely will need the snakes in my altar space.

Loving this! I have the Raven spoon holder and I love it! Joanns did tell me they don’t have enough employees to put out stock and run the registers etc. They had a bunch in the back still needing to be put out. They were very helpful and looked to see if they had a decorative box I wanted with ravens and haunted houses on it in stock-they did but but had no idea when it would be put out.

I ordered the small and large Jack o lantern cookie jars online weeks ago. The small came fine. The large came broken. Reordered after a refund and it came broken a second time. I totally get the disappointment with Joann this year. 😭

I just got the Carnival of Carnage from the 2021 Spooky Town collection and I am obsessed! I love creepy clowns and the detail is unreal! I'm a brand new collector and I keep remembering that you were gifted the graveyard. I go to home goods and it's just "rae dunn" lol. Seriously. It's fine that there's Rae Dunn, people love it, but it's like so all over the place it's like the only thing that is in a lot of stores! But I'm loving some of the iron stuff from Ross and some of the Michaels stuff is pretty cool... and I'm hopeful about some of the threshold stuff from Target.

So i think what's going on is last year they brought out the decor etc, and because of the rona, a lot of stuff just stayed in the store. I think they're testing the waters this year to see what kind of demand there will be, we keep seeing the delta in the news etc, I think they're trying to keep from ending up stuck with inventory again this year, and we are indeed seeing a lot of the stock that was left behind last year as well, I've noticed it here as well (I'm south of DC)

There was definitely some cute things but I know in my area it seems to be pulling teeth to get Halloween in the stores. I actually decorate with vintage kitschy Halloween that I have been collecting over the past few years so I buy less and less newer decor.

So I know it's been a couple weeks since you posted and I don't know if this is everywhere, but I've been searching for a couple pieces that are usually season staples since Halloween stuff started going up. This week, I started asking staff at different stores if they have an idea of when their full stock is going up and I keep hearing that their stock isn't coming in like it normally is. Apparently suppliers are having trouble with their shipments so the stores aren't getting as much in which might be why everything seems so understocked.

Is hard not to be upset about going for halloween hunting at the stores and what you find is very little and slim pickings. I haven't posted a video to my channel in a month. Whenever I get to go out for the haunts there's not much to see other than the same stuff over and over at least in the Florida areas. I'm with you on this about taking a break to see if new stuff comes out thats worth recording that gets me excited. I love watching your videos and your personality is always cheerful and spooktacular lol.

I am a witch and I keep the Michael’s goth up in my bedroom all year. It’s really pretty in the summer, I was surprised. But this year I’ve been stalking the store since July and they get a few items every week. It’s tediously slow! I’m searching for the Witches Lair apothecary sign for my kitchen but they said one was scanned into their inventory weeks ago but it’s not there and there’s no sale record. Guess it walked out the back door 😯witch gave the shopkeepers and I the chills 👻💀
