They disrespected Michael Myers, wasted James Jude Courtney, who portrays him perfectly, characters behave like idiots, nothing makes sense, there is NO horror, NO atmosphere and NO suspense. They had no idea what they wanted to do. They just knew they wanted to make two more movies after 2018, because money.

I don't even know where to start here. To put it bluntly: Blumhouse Productions, David Gorden Green, Danny McBride, Chris Bernier and Paul Brad Logan have took a huge dump on the Halloween Franchise for the fourth time with Halloween Ends. I'm really not sure if this Franchise can recover from this disaster again. The makers of this film put Friday the 13th Part 5: A New Beginning (1985), Jason Goes To Hell: The Final Friday (1993), A Nightmare on Elm Street Part 2: Freddy's Revenge (1985) and Christine (1983) in a blender. Mixed those four films together with the worst elements of Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers (1989) and Halloween 6: The Curse of Michael Myers (1995). Thrown in a dash of Halloween H20 (1998) and voilà! The result is Halloween Ends and it's gloriously awful. And yet this new Halloween Trilogy got off to a good start with Halloween (2018). Yes, it stumbled with Halloween Kills (2021), but Halloween Kills was just a bridge movie in this trilogy. That had been a big problem. Halloween Ends isn't just a big slap in the face for these two movies, oh no! This film is a huge slap in the face to the entire Halloween Franchise. It doesn't feel like a Halloween Movie at all! It's just boring, frustrating and disappointing. So many new characters are introduced in this one. All have zero personality, are simply one dimensional and a bunch of assholes. I didn't like the Corey storyline at all. It had ZERO Pay off and was just pointless! Allyson is all over the place in this film. Her decisions made no sense and were completely contradictable to her character in comparison to the previous two films. Not to mention how annoying and unlikable she became in Ends. She really reminded me of Scout Taylor-Compton's Laurie Strode from Rob Zombie's Halloween 2. Michael Myers himself (when he appeared) seemed bored, disinterested and tired. To add insult to injury, he was completely disrespected in this movie. You really want me to believe that some 24 years old douchebag who was bullied and beaten by some high school bullies, can beat the f*cking Michael Myers and stole his mask. Are you serious with this bullshit?! Heck, when this movie FINALLY decided to be a Halloween Movie, I was about to walk out of the theater. Not even the Kills are good in this movie imo. How can you screw up so much with something so simple! Jamie Lee Curtis as Laurie Strode is the only shining light in this awful film. She's the only thing stopping me from giving this movie 0/5 stars. If David Gorden Green really wanted to "Season of the Witch" the Franchise then he should have NOT bring Laurie and Michael back in Kills and Ends. He had the opportunity to give those characters a nice send-off in 2018 but he didn't do it. He is a hack! I have absolutely no interest now in his Exorcist Reboot Trilogy. His Halloween Trilogy is so inconsistent. Like he and Danny McBride can't decide whether or not Michael Myers is a normal human being or a supernatural entity. In Kills, Laurie said I quote: "I always thought Michael Myers was flesh and blood, just like you and me, but a mortal man could not have survived, what he's lived through." Then in Ends she says and I quote: "I thought maybe you were the boogeyman. No, you're just a man [...]." Is he supernatural or not? David Gorden Green and Danny McBride be like: "Who knows, who cares!" Halloween Ends (2022) gets 1/5 stars from me. Worst movie of 2022 so far for me. I can deal with a badly made movie that has bad writing and bad acting as long as it's still entertaining. The worst thing a movie can do to me is if it bores me and waste my time. Halloween Ends did that to me. I have never left the cinema so speechless, confused and angry at the same time. It's by far the worst movie in the Halloween Franchise. Yes, it's WORSE than Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers (1989), Halloween 6: The Curse of Michael Myers (1995), Halloween: Resurrection (2002), Rob Zombie's Halloween 2 (2009) and Halloween Kills (2021). I'm dead serious! I would rather rewatch those movies than this piece of shit ever again because at very least those movies felt like actual Halloween Movies to me, even so they suck. I HATE Halloween Ends. After this travesty, whatever other studio who will own the rights to this Franchise should really just do Halloween Anthology Movies. Do what John Carpenter and Debra Hill envisioned for this Franchise to become after Halloween II (1981). It failed with Season of the Witch in 1982 but now it is the right time to do that in my opinion. Michael Myers character is so played-out at this point that I don't think a new Reboot with him will be any successful, especially without Jamie Lee Curtis. Even if they will bring back Danielle Harris as Jamie Lloyd and make a direct Sequel to Halloween 4 and delete Halloween 5 and 6 from the timeline, so what? They gonna f*ck it up again! They do it everytime! Everytime they made a decent or a good Sequel to the 1978 Original or 1981 Halloween II, they immediately do a Sequel/Sequels that ruins everything. They did it with Halloween 4 which was ruined by Halloween 5 and 6. Then with H20 which was ruined by Resurrection and now with Halloween (2018) which is ruined by Kills and Ends. This makes 3 strikes now. You're out! As far as I'm concerned the Story of Michael Myers ended with Halloween II (1981). Michael Myers died in that movie with Dr. Loomis who sacrificed his life and died in a blaze of glory.

^^^^^ Taking the words right out of my mouth (though personally my preferred timeline is the Thorn one since it was inspired heavily by the famed 1978 novelization. ) I swear, I've never had so much grief watching a Myers film before and I've seen them all. It was an embarrassment and a waste of time. It's even worse when the alternate endings all revolve on DGG wanking over his love for H3 by having Michael heavily implied to be a Silver Shamrock slave. Which makes zero sense since the mask obsession was invented by Rob Zombie, NOT the original movie! It had nothing to do with him killing! Yeah, let Ends burn in the house in 2018.

The literal backstabbing is fucking insane, they've been craving another good Halloween film for the last 7/8 (and a half) years since RZ's H2, and this is how they treat DGG's new trilogy? Good fucking lord, and they wanna call themselves fans of Michael Myers and Halloween, when they're nothing more than slasher fans, who want the same "turn-off-brain" films again and again. And don't even get me started on the fact that the vocal minority of Twitter wants us to believe they're milking the franchise, when we've had 8 years without a Halloween film, I wouldn't call that "milking the franchise" if half the films they tried conjuring up never came to be in the first place!

If the "Corey & Allison Story" was so great, it deserved a separate movie. The truth of this was that Danny McBride and company had a great idea - Halloween 2018. Jason Blum is a hack. He wouldn't give them the green light unless they gave him a trilogy. And from what we've seen of previous Blumhouse swill (The Gallows? The sequel to that that's never seen the light of day?) he didn't care what the last two were like. PS - All three movies threw a bone to the Rob Zombie fans. Michael dropping teeth in the bathroom in the first one? Michael never took trophies until Zombie's films.

As a long time horror fan that's watched, followed, and collected horror since growing up in the 80's I have to say guys we gotta drop these negative attitudes and be horror fans again. It's been redundant the kind of attitudes and negative comments I've seen for this movie and all others dating back nearly 10 years if not more. This isn't Casablanca this is the horror genre which has never been perfect or taken seriously by the film industry. It's best described as the junk food of the film world. There was a time when fans genuinely enjoyed horror. And it would fascinate them to look at things like behind the scenes info, interviews, and what have you to not only get a better understanding of the film but the intent and inspiration had by the film artist/director. That seems last today. Fans today are overly critical even the casual ones which I don't get as they know very little to nothing about the genre or the details behind horror films. It's like a trend they just follow what everyone else says. Sure there's always room for improvement in any film. But given they had to change their plans due to the pandemic I think they did well for what they had to work with. And on that note of those complaining was there any knowledge of the updates on the delays and having to change the story from originally having taken place all in one night to having the final film take place 4 years later????? And there's the usual I've seen, "Oh they disrespected Michael!" due to him being weakened or not being in the film long enough. Well for one every horror icon must've been disrespected right from the start as they had little screen times in their films. Then from previous sequels, the events of Kills, and Laurie's words taken out of context people assume that Michael is this unstoppable force. Well he is but to a point. Key thing to understand that if you look at anything Carpenter said about how creation, his character was that Michael was made to be an enigma. Everything said about Michael had some facts like Loomis saying that he acts with rhyme or reason and that his humanity basically was slipping away. That right there gives you the indication that there's a supernatural element about him. That and his immorality giving him ability to withstand pain and fatal wounds. But one thing people don't bother to try and understand is that the limitation of his immorality and strength was never explored. Everything we've heard by the characters were only clues pointing to the mystery but nothing confirmed. Note that when Michael was at full strength he was killing. And in that 40 years he did not sustain any significance damage prior. And the first thing he did once he escaped was go on a killing spree. He was not weakened because again he did not sustain any real damage as he did in Kills. We learned that he killed some from time to time from within the sewers. But in a 4 year span that did very little for him. It was just enough to survive. Then the Batman & Robin comments lol. The interaction in the cave lead me to believe that the evil entity that controls Michael used Corey as an extension of itself. I think it's plan was to consume Corey just as it did Michael and eventually abandoned Michael leaving him a broken down empty shell. But as he was dying it took back that small part of it and killed him off. But those who just look on the surface as I explained just saw it as Corey beating up Michael for his mask which on reality was barely even a shoving match. I know time was not on their side especially having to change the film from their original idea of the trilogy all taking place in one night. But if they had a little more time I would've kept Corey alive and done just that having the evil force transfer Michael's corrupted soul into him using Corey's body as a vessel just as it did with Michael. And then have Michael's body left as an empty shell running on auto-pilot. So when Laurie kills him and think it's all over it's not. Then maybe have it end on a dramatic note with Laurie finding Allyson's dead body with no trace of Michael as he disappears into the night just as the original was supposed to end.

@Insert Coinz that's why I tend to watch a select few horror channels here. I tend to try and stay away from toxic posts like this and other social media sites. People go overboard with the rants and all the negativity. This era of fans aren't how fans used to be. Fans used reflect every bit of the meaning of the word. They genuinely loved and enjoyed going to the theater to watch horror films. They had a great time understanding it was the art of entertainment and didn't take it so seriously. And now it is questionable as it's not just this film but every film they basically copy and paste the same comments. Nothing is ever good enough and I wonder why they even consider themselves horror fans? If you watch the opening theater scene in Scream 2 that is an example of a good deal or most fans that grew up in the 80's. Today "fans" are so critical and uptight over them you can imagine that they go to the movies in a suit and tie carrying a clipboard to jot down nitpicks to bitch about later on social media. 🤣

If I said it once I said it a thousand times, but this should've been flip-flopped with Halloween 2018. The end battle would have been much more fun and epic, and losing the supernatural evil aspect as the series goes would've been welcomed more than criticized. I liked the movie in its own right but a Halloween meets Christine flick would be much better as the first of a trilogy. Kills was terrible in every way.

In all honesty I liked the idea greatly because it delves into the idea that the shape doesn't just have to be michael myers. But this film need way more than just 1hr and 50 minutes. At least an additional 30 minutes to balance the michael myers and corey storyline and fully flesh out each one. A medium like a book can do this a lot better in ways. This movie above all of the trilogy severely needs an extended cut with some substance released for home media. Overall though it's absolutely fucking stupid for the most part. Especially introducing a character of this magnitude in the THIRD MOVIE of this trilogy. What? Would have preferred it a lot more if corey had his own movie. Maybe one that replaced halloween kills because I thought that was stupid as well (not michael of course of the plot was just absolute garbage man or at the very least paper thin. With annoying ass characters and the laurie being sidelined for the entire movie. It seemed like an entire movie was wasted. The only thing that comes to mind in this trilogy is that they really didn't have a plan. It could have ended with 2018 but nah. Some fans will say that we should be glad that we have movies at all. I'm sorry but my standards are that low. Idk maybe have the michael and laurie storyline end in kills then have corey have his standalone movie. Or hell like I said before, have kills be Corey's movie. Everybody assumed michael was dead after 2018 so maybe not even feature him in the movie and have corey do his thing. Then the end of kills could be michael breaking out of the burned down house. Ends could literally be anything after that. Just gore and action where core and michael work together or hell maybe they will fight. I don't care. (BTW the whole michael looks into his eyes thing is also complete bullshit)
