My interpretation of what we saw was Cochran congratulating them on doing a good job of doing what he would have done - killing him. But, at the same time, Cochran knew that he had still achieved his goal. Conal Cochran is the only "bad guy" to achieve victory in one of these horror film movies. The fact is Michael Myers, Freddy Kreuger, Jason Voorhees, and others are all losers who continuously end up being defeated time after time after time. In comparison, Conal Cochran got the job done and successfully achieved his goal. Michael Myers can't even achieve his goal of sacrificing his own family. But Conal Cochran successfully achieved his goal of sacrificing millions of people wearing his evil masks with particles from Stonehenge. Conal Cochran definitely deserves to be in the Hall of Fame for Bad Guys for that achievement.

The franchise is not called Michael Myers, its called Halloween, so there is no logical reason for people to insist Michael Myers be in it. As for those wishing it was called Season of the Witch rather than Halloween III: Season of the Witch, remember that there is already a movie called Season of the Witch, so in addition to it being an alternative concept to the previous two Halloween movies, there would be the issue of copyright infringement. This was a great installment in the Halloween franchise. End of discussion.

@TheLuca20012 жыл бұрын
Not neccesarily issues, but it's just very inconclusive and the viewer must always think of an explanation instead of the film offering it right away. Cochran may as well have known that even destroying the factory would not stop the commercial from reaching its objective (even if the "breaking news" about the factory being engulfed in flames is to be considered, because Santa Mira is a rather isolated community, and even strangers who tried to talk about the truth would be hunted down by the androids, as they are not only guarding the factory, but the town as a whole). The robot Ellie was designed so that in the event that Challis makes it out of the factory, he would most likely be with her, and would take him out in order to prevent Challis from contacting the networks.

Why was this movie such a hidden gem? Well, at the time, critics and audiences hated it because it was different and didn't follow the story. That's the problem. People are not used to changes. Change is good because it keeps a franchise feeling fresh. If your franchise is re-hasing the same ideas over and over, it starts getting stagnant. Nowadays, it's an underrated movie.
@BanditoGames37 ай бұрын
For those confused on what just happened and the lore of the backstory in short summary. Stone henge from England is stolen. Somehow the Stonehenge is a part of some kind of mythical pagan magic. Cochran is a pagan god worshipper. He built the entire factory with the help of all the Androids he built. He's most likely been alive for over 300 years (this has been partly explained in two ways) The homeless guy who gets killed mentions that no locals helped Cochran build santa Mira and the factory. Meaning he had help from androids. #2 the main character finds a fake android women knitting. And gets attacked by one of the boss henchman. He kills him and then cochran finds them. He explains that that robot was made in the late 1700s. Movie summary. Cochran was literally just some crazy pagan worshipper who wanted to "fix" Halloween by indtalling "chips" into the irish Halloween masks his company co produces in order to kill all the children who watch his telegram ad on TV. The chips are also infected with the pagan Stonehenge magic. Thats how the bugs come out. The bugs don't affect the androids though. And for ellie. Most people speculate she was kidnapped during when the main guy tried finding her at the hotel. But i think she was already an android considering the cuddling s*x scene. She was extremely active for someone who lost a father. I feel like cochran had sent her to him after he found out about everything at first. She was definitely a human after her father died but i feel like she was an android after they arrived in town.

What happened to Cochrane when he was zapped by the pure magical energy of Stonehenge? Something makes me think he didn't actually die, but was transported to another plane of existence.
@tayachting6345 Жыл бұрын
I think he was zapped by his own magic and was killed -- frying in hell but of course, the carnage would still be carried out because the advertisements were already sent to the tv stations, and Cochrane knew that.

You ever heard of something called “Endgame”? No I’m not talking about Avengers..😒 An Endgame is when you play your last card, like your ace in the hole, and for those younger folks out there it’s like playing an adventure game with a pet and getting to the final level and realizing the pet is actually a secret power. Cochran planned in the event that if they somehow escape (got a feeling the doctor guy in the movie is ex military or something) that Ellie would be his endgame to try to stop the Dr Guy. Notice how even after her body was torn apart it kept coming after him..

Special effects-wise, I thought they could've done better than what we see at 2:23. He looks like some frostbitten corpse uncovered from an Arctic expedition or something

The strange thing about this movie is, it's really not that much different from the reality of consumerism in the 80s. When they came out with Captain Power and the Soldiers of Future toys back then. They used Photo Light Technology to interact with the videos and tv show. Creating an immersive experience. Same thing was done with the Zapper Gun on Nintendo NES for games like Duck Hunt. Problem was, parents thought the price for Captain Power toys were expensive, and stuff like that could cause seizures. I'm just glad I didn't have snakes or bugs come out of my head. 😈

The question I have is if they destroyed the factory and the stone that works the chips in the masks then who is powering the adverts at the end of the film.
@TheLuca20013 жыл бұрын
The pieces of stone that are in the masks work independently. They do not require the "source stone".
@taylorpack77052 жыл бұрын
Plus advertising is just paid to have them advertised. They don’t know Cochran died and the factory being destroyed.

Carpenter left this “ambiguous” on purpose! Use your imagination alittle… To some in the comments he’s beaming himself to another realm, to others (like myself) he’s being “Banished” (cursed to salt or glass etc) before being teleported for punishment. I can’t choose what outcome you accept it’s kinda a 50/50 thing but do Remember in the movie it’s heavily implied that they are into witchcraft and serve some kind of higher being. Cochran himself even says they do this type of ritual every 3000 years. They sacrificed people! This is most likely what happens to a Celtic who fails the “Samhain ritual”. Notice the Stonehenge glowing and shooting him from both directions. If you believe this ending than the Dr stopped the broadcast off screen. If you believe the other ending the Dr didn’t make it but saved those kids in front of him while millions still died. Apparently the novel says the latter happened but in the end it’s all left up to the viewer…
