John Carpenter never fails when it comes to intense, memorable background ambience. They Live, The Thing (more Ennio Morricone but still), Halloween (1 and 3 especially), Escape from New York. One of my favourite composers ever.

Man,something about this movie,the atmosphere,the music,and the creepiness.it’s just so different from the other films,and is best to know that this is the closest we’ve ever gotten to what John Carpenter actually wanted to do with the franchise. This movie is just so unique and awesome 10/10!!!

A lot of you will disagree with me, but I think Halloween 3 is THE best Halloween sequel! As much as I love Halloween 2 and Rob Zombie's remake, I think the franchise would have been stronger had they gone with the anthology route. Since the title is Halloween, there's a million things that could happen on that night and Halloween 3 explored that beautifully!

I like where they are going with the new Halloween movies, hoping Ends will be a great... end 👀 The anthology route is a great idea, maybe even doing it now with streaming so popular. But the negative criticism at the time of the release was enough for Carpenter to pull the plug on the idea and not look back.

Agree. Ive always been a fan of H3. Still am and feel its aged better than most of the sequels. It definitely nailed the holiday down the most.

it's a bad movie, but entertaining in a way. The plot of murdering little kids on Halloween is in poor taste IMO.

@@nickpeluso7511 From your line of logic, wouldn't any movie with any death or tragedy in it including historically accurate movies be in poor taste since we're merely watching it for entertainment? Pagan religions have been sacrificing children to their gods since the beginning of time and I'm certain it continues to this day. It's one of the most disturbing and evil things that I can think of. To say that the plot of this movie was in poor taste to me is akin to turning a blind eye to reality. Even though this movie is a complete work of fiction, it shines a spotlight into some very dark corners, and you just want to ignore it and pretend it doesn't exist. Guess again...

My favorite movie… Not just horror movie, but overall, my favorite film. And it’s mostly because of how the soundtrack makes me feel. Like serious ASMR. That opening sequence fires off all my neurons…I can feel it in my spine!

Great to see the underrated Season of the Witch featuring here. It's a pity they had it as their first (and only) breakaway story idea from the Michael Myers stories, under the "Halloween" banner. Fans of the Myers character then disliked the film for having no Myers, and it got a reputation as "not good", possibly putting off people who've never seen it. Whereas, had it just been released as a film called Season of the Witch and found a different audience it would probably be better regarded. For my taste, this eclipses the Myers Halloween films. I love the mix of witchcraft and technology and a clever story (written by Quatermass creator Nigel Kneale, I think) that ends on a brilliant cliffhanger. The soundtrack is also superb, from the sweeping, soaring synths to the sequences, it has an unnerving, epic quality. Thanks for making this astonishingly-good soundscape. I see you've also done something with the Silver Shamrock jingles. :-)
