@@DontrelleRoosevelt I paid money and I’m glad I did. Loved it. In my top 3. And Halloween is my favorite franchise. I basically watch them religiously so I know them well. For you to say there are 9 better Halloween films than Kills is straight up laughable. Get out.

Halloween III? Reinventing the wheel? It’s just a B-Rated Invasion of the Body Snatchers. I get there’s a cult following hyping this film but no lie it just isn’t great. But since John Carpenter had a hand in it then it has to be. Especially when there are people who don’t like Michael Myers or the slasher genre in general. But when examining it like this why not watch a different film entirely? A24 art house horror is the current trend and I am happy for it. But I like the slasher genre. It’s fun and this film looks like it’s an ode to the original much like 2018 which helps since everyone who made that crafted the past film.

People want something new? WTF. LOL. This is part 12. I have a feeling I am going to LOVE this. Bear in mind I rank the original, RZ's H2, Halloween III, and H6 at the top of the series so I am a TRUE fan of originality. That said this time I want to have my cake and murder it too. I cannot fuking wait until next Friday.

Thanks for the honest assessment. Yeah I felt a little tricked by the 2018 movie. I won't go into it but if I go expecting a rather bloody gore fest I guess I won't be disappointed.

LOL - how is it a love letter for Carpenter when the original is lauded for it's non gore and subtlety with almost no blood and on screen kills. Have you seen the original?

True, but Carpenter also insisted that horror evolving with the times is necessary. The original Halloween would be considered pretty tame by today's standards. So seeing those kills in '78 (which are still disturbing by the way), it makes sense to me to see them evolve to what we see in "Halloween Kills." In the review, I was also more referring to the simplicity of his original film and how that influenced this one here!
