I really like your painted ghost picture. The greenery draped on the mantle appeared to mirror the greenery around the doorframe in your ghost picture. It turned out really pretty. (Hawaii Five-O).

Hi Becky. I loved both mantles. You could put a banner swagged from the corners of the shutters. That would cover the window some.

Girl, I struggle too because we are perfectionist. I turned 60 today and I am a pretty good decorator, but I overthink everything and I have spent years trying to come up with a simple way to decorate every year. I have a family Halloween party every year and last year did me in showcasing all of my collections, so this year I decided I would do a theme each year keeping me from dragging out every kit and kaboodle. I love the picture you did of the ghost. I would remove the witch and add all of your ghosts. I have found that collections are a more organized way of seasonally decorating. Hope this helps.

Switch the witch to a house so it looks like the ghost in the painted picture is coming through the gate to the house and put at least one taller tree back

I like both mantles. The haunted houses one was really cute. What if you put a little creepy cloth or spider webbing at the top of the window and shutters??? I think that you are so used to having fullness with greenery, that it wasn't looking right to you.🍁🎃

I think so too. I added the greenery back on top and now I'm happy with it. I just like the fullness so much better.

I agree with some of the other comments, I really liked the first one with the houses. That was neat. But this one is pretty too. I do the same thing when it comes to changing things up from how I usually do something. It takes time to adjust. Loved the video!

I enjoyed seeing you work thru the process and the birds were definitely the finishing touch but I think I liked the larger trees the best because they took up more space in front of your backdrop. The greens hanging from the mantle really added a nice touch as well….I actually use a little green in most of my Halloween vignettes. TFS

I like the finished mantle and definitely you need to put what makes you happy looking at everyday. I have to admit though, that I was disappointed to see the little spooky village go. I loved it and it made me smile. Isn't it fun, though, that we each have our own things we enjoy looking at! I am glad you found an arrangement you were happy with. That's all that matters; not what we think or say. You worked so hard and I truly appreciate the fact that you share your decorating struggles with us! That's how we learn from each other what our likes and dislikes are and it helps us decorate our own spaces. You always give us so many options. I love watching your videos. The mantle looks great, but if you still feel something is missing you could put the BOO sign centered on top of the window. It would add a little black that would draw your eye up. I loved the haunted houses, too!

The mantel looks wonderful! If you want more on the other side, maybe change the tree you have for the larger one or add both. The height of the witch will add the balance to the mantle, I think. Very well done!

Hi Becky, I liked both your mantel options. In the end, it needs to be the one that you enjoy looking at the most. The witch is definitely the "star of the show"! When you set out your Haunted Houses, perhaps there will be room near them to showcase your other ghost challenge painting...you did such a good job with both the paintings.

As long as you enjoy it and have fun, that’s all that matters! (but I hear ya, it’s easier to look back at my house after it’s decorated and say it was fun😂)
