Bit of a stetch to say better than Rob zombie lol, there were zero jump scares, zero story line, ok it was entertaining enough but hardly gripping and enthralling by any means. Sure it was an OK amateur film, but absolutely no rival to the Rob zombie version. I liked it enough to watch till the end but I've seen better fan films here on KZbin. Sorry its just my opinion.

First day of shooting was August 24th this year. This was made specifically for a Fan Film festival that didn't end up happening. 10 days (3 weekends) of shooting, 3 weeks editing and 2 weeks of music composition. And we finished September 30th, 2012

I passed up Netflix and Hulu tonight and watched this instead on a whim at 3am -- alone in the dark. As someone whose seen all the studio Halloween films, I still quite enjoyed your movie. This was a labor of love and that's what fan films should be. You really captured the tone and spirit, and portrayed The Shape effectively. Nice work & thanks for the entertainment.

You can see that Darren's strengths are in directing. The opening sequence is a wonderful tribute to Halloween 4's eerie beginning. I can see how Halloween 4 and Halloween 6 inspired Darren's vision for this movie. Darren does a great job of filming Michael and that's where this movie shines. The chase scenes, the ambience of Michael's presence, and the death scenes are strong. The weakness of this film is the writing. This is not necessarily a bad script, but it lacks sequential unity. I teach all of my screenwriting students to make sure that each scene pushes the plot of the film forward. The audience must feel that each scene has relevance. For example, the opening scene of 4 random teens discussing their lives adds nothing to the story. You lose the audience's attention immediately. They come to see Michael's story not four random people with vague character traits. What this script needed was an action opening that somehow connects us back to one of the Halloween sequels (i.e. H20 or Halloween 6). There must be an immediate hook at the start, something with substance. Look at how H20 begins with Marion Chambers arriving to find her home broken into, or look at the great ambulance scene on a rainy night in Halloween 4. Both of these openings hook the audience. I would love to see Darren find a strong writer to see what he can do with a more cohesive script. Keep going Darren. You have the visual talent. Now find a good writer, and the two of you can make an amazing Halloween Fan Movie.

Some of the scenes/cast reminded me of Ressurection. Nice job of Michael appearing in the shadows right behind the "fake" one.Instant chills! Well written and acted! You guys may not have had the huge budget that Zombie had, but you certainly did MUCH better than anything Zombie accomplished! Really great job on this fan film guys. Once they got to the sanitarium, it really picked up and had a good vibe. The shot at 37:12 was the most "Halloween" feeling moment since 1981's second Halloween in the series, as the mask you chose was the best since the original mask as well. To make a film like this is MUCH harder than most people realize. To the makers of this film, you should be be very proud of what you accomplished with it. Really nice job, with some legit cool and scary moments.

Rob Zombie's first Halloween was a classic. More brutal than any other entry to come before it. The sequel was 'meh', but had one of the most intense openings of any horror movie I've ever seen. So no, this isn't pretty good by comparison, though I appreciate the effort.

My mother was the one that introduced me to horror. But I felt Rob Zombie's took the suspense out of Halloween and just made it with too much gore from the original. The original made it naturally scary with the lighting, the music and the atmosphere.

Not bad at all for a fan made film and the person paying The Shape nailed it down very well and got the walk down excellent, this would be a good plot of a Halloween movie now picked up from where Halloween Resurrection left off, ignoring Rob Zombie's remakes, would like to see them revisit places they once were like the Smith's Grove Sanitarium, The Myers property and even Haddonfield Memorial Hospital which would be shut down now too and all places Michael would take shelter in during his waitings. If evil doesn't die, it probably doesn't age either!

I had no idea this was in existence. This is the most brilliant fan film I have ever seen in any genre. You have captured all the unique moments of what makes Halloween and have paid homage to (from what i felt and saw and experienced) not only the original Halloween but 2, 4, 5, 6, H2O and Resurrection in my opinion. In fact, you have just given me closure with the timelines for 4, 5, and 6 as well as H2O and Resurrection as individual timelines and that coupled with the new Halloween next month makes it on helluva special 4oth anniversary for sure. Well done indeed. Including Smith's Grove in the storyline as well as the grown up boys from the original makes it all the better in light of the connections the other films made to the original was brilliant and you captured everything perfectly in a way a writer/storyteller/filmmaker hopes to achieve and did a fine service to adding to this wonderful franchise of stories. Thank you for concluding the stories for me from my perspective... perhaps thats what you were trying to do with this story but if not, you certainly made an impact that way. Ending it the way you did, well that's almost a perfect ending to the entire matter because, well, evil is always out there and the boogey man is unstoppable and endures by the very nature of it so while there is always more story to tell, the open endedness is quite logical. Bravo and a standing ovation to all who made this.

Best thing about the movie including it being one of the better fan made films is that it does not dwell too much on the backstory of Michael Myers's original Halloween story and plot with his sister Laurie and Dr Loomis. Instead new victims and settings are explored and done very well.

This was scarier and better than those piece of shit Rob Zombie remakes. You nailed the original mask PERFECTLY. And thanks for acknowledging H4, H5, H6 as in continuity. It's just too bad we can't erase H2O (Halloween "Scream Edition") and H8 from continuity.

Ok, now I understand why horror movies are predictable. Randy's rules from Scream. Rule #1, never drink or do drugs, that's why the guy with the broken down car died. Rule #2, you can never have sex. It's a sin factor. And rule #3, never under any circumstances say I'll be right back cause you won't be back. You end up breaking the rules, I'll see you in the kitchen with a knife

I know I am pretty late. But it doesn't matter if you are in the vision of Myers. You can respect the rules on any other Killer. But Myers WILL ALWAYS find and kill you, no mather if you are careful or not.

Slasher movies are way better than those ghost-demon movies. The Scream quartet was the last of em'. Just saw Scream 4 the other day it was GOOD but didn't freak me out as much as the first 3 did but thats probably bc I was high while I was watching it...was less scared. lol.

I was hoping Rebecca would be smarter and just keep driving after she hit him haha. All in all though, awesome job and at only a few mins past 50 in length it definitely kept the pace moving. I also loved the underground part of the sanitarium, as it gave me vibes to the opening of Ressurection which was really the best part of that movie haha, the opening 10 mins of it. Good stuff everyone.
