Halloween Scream Press On Aquarium Nail!

Heya Duck in today's video I’m going to be revisiting the aquarium nail for Halloween we had a blast last time so I’m taking another stab at it! Let’s get cracking!
Im going to be doing this nail on the best client ever the Aleana hand and I’m using two different types of full cover gel press on tips we have the Tapered Coffin and the XXL Sculpture Coffin ill use the more bowed of the two as my Tip and the flatter of the tips will create the tank, ill start by giving the tank nail a coat of topcoat on the underside and ill give that a cure when thats done ill file the edges of the nail to make them thinner and around the cuticle area as well then ill clean over with clean up solution on a lint free pad ill take the Bottom tip and ill stick that on to the Aleana hand and make sure its nice and clean ill line up our top tip and ill use the Cassidy One Stroke with the gel to hold everything in place and then ill cure that and remove the sticky layer and then ill file down the gem gel to smooth any bumps in the gel and abrasive the surface ill wipe over to remove and dust and then ill give this a then layer of the base coat and cure that, now ill take my clear as day Acrygel and ill give a layer over the whole nail filling in any gaps left by the tips ill smooth that out with a brush and a little clean up solution and cure that, Now ill create a slight ombre at the cuticle area using the Acrygel colour peaches and cream when I’m happy with that ill give it a cure and then ill remove the sticky layer and file this nail in to shape.
Now I'll create a decal for these nails I'll start by getting a piece of backing paper from a sculpting form and clip that around a nail tip to give the decal a curve running through it I'll start by creating a base from topcoat and cure that then I can decant some of the Void and Mercury Gel Polishes on to my pallet and ill use those with the lily liner to paint a knife decal on the layer of topcoat ill cure that and then use some of the white out for hi-light ill cure that and then ill use Lust and Candy Apple to create some blood on the knife ill cure that and then give another layer of the gloss topcoat to sandwich that in and cure, then ill cut that out with my straight scissors and set that aside.
Now I’ll work on the liquid for my Aquarium I'll start with a few drops of water on my pallet and I'll decant a small amount of both black and red soft-bodied acrylic paints and mix a tiny bit of the paints to get a deep red then I can some craft syringes and ill slurp up some of the red (I had to make more) and then ill load a second craft syringe up with oil ill place my decal into the nail and partly fill with oil then ill switch back and forth between the paint and oil to get a nice separated mixture ill plug up the hole with Acrygel cure it and then file.
Now for the gel design, I'll decant some gels onto my pallet Void, White Out, Lust and Candy Apple and I'll start mapping out the design with the white out when I’m happy with the shape I'll fill it in with two layers of the white out gel polish then ill take the void gel polish super thin and ill use that to create some shadow and ill cure that now ill use the black in its full pigmented glory to create the features of the mask and the hood now ill use the Candy Apple and lust to create blood on and around the mask now ill top coat the underside of the nail and cure that and ill also topcoat the design side to seal everything in and finish off this design I hope you enjoyed the video and ill catch you in the next one! Oh Kirsty I think you’ve made this way too hard on yourself! All you need for the aquarium nail part is a NO C CURVE TIP and a FULL COVER TIP on top. They stick together perfectly. Would you consider doing some videos where we can submit questions that you’d answer? For example I’d love to know why some polish has a sticky layer and some don’t, and why you’d want to use them in different situations. I’d also love to see you show all the ways to attach a sculpting form to achieve the different shapes of nails. Seeing them next to each other would be super helpful I think!!!

Tip: 😊Coconut oil is the best oil thus far that I've used for these it's more of a thinner consistency and help everything glid more but baby oil as well works. Just a very small bubble 🫧 would be best or none at all really is just preference. If u use a Sculpted tip for the top will give more surface area and won't limit the inside circumstances inside the nail. The higher the apex on the Sculpted nail that's used as the bottom nail will take away from the inside due to that higher Sculpted apex of the nail. Hope that makes sense if your doing it with two full cover tips. If using a flatter non Sculpted tip for bottom an Sculpted for top will work better an everything will fall from top to bottom as a fully full cover Aquarium nail.hope that makes sense? The nail is cool. Love the blood on it and insinde the nail.❤ I've seen others use a bigger nail to go on top of the bottom nail. I've seen others make a piece to go on the bottom of the nail. Made out of hard gel, acrylic. Measure from the end of your finger to the end on the nail. That's how long it should be. They make the piece flat & on a piece of backing from a form. Hope you can understand what I'm trying to say. But it can be done different ways. Hope those was helpful. ❤🤗

This is one nail I had to figure out right away! LOVE THEM. You actallly dont have to topcoat the underside. The oil makes me gloss as soon as its filled😍 the most fun part is learning how make them perfect with no filing❤ Loveeeee them❤

😮 Very Cool 🎉 I’m not a nail technician so, I’m confused about the air bubble staying in. If you want to remove the air bubbles you can simply use the same need to extract the air bubbles from the liquid 😊 I am probably 89.9% guessing that you are determined to get this perfect and you will try again 😂 looks perfect to me ❤

Generally, people use a syringe to inject the oil so that they don't have any air bubbles at all. If you have air bubbles, it gives opportunity for the things that you want to float to get caught in the air bubble itself or in the air and stuck to the side of the nail. You should try making one with no air or watch other videos to see why they don't want any air.

Love this idea and design, and how wearable and not bulky it looks. I wish you had a US distributor, I’d love to order your acrygel and the tube squeezer bc I do my own nails and only use acrygels and absolutely LOVE the tube squeezer, lol, but $50 plus for shipping is a bit crazy. In order to seal the oil in the nail properly...use the back of a styling form and simply paint a small square of clear top coat and cure it. You can then peel it off of the form and apply some top coat to the tip edges of the nail and then place the square you made on the sculpting form on top of the opening and cure. Then cut around to fit and apply another coat to make sure it's sealed properly.

The aquarium part of this nail, to me, got lost under the scream mask and blood. I think just a bit of blood dripping on top would have showcased the aquarium knife better. Then, another press on using the scream mask and blood as part of a press on set.

i think initially you wouldnt like doing aquarium nails because you make your own things to put in and if its not correct weight or size thats the problem. Most of us making aquarium nails will put small things like glitter or small thin precut items from nail stores.

Have you seen the method with bling gel? You mark where the nail bed ends (on a full cover tip), lay bling gel down on something laminated from the free edge to your nail bed mark (leaving the nail bed part off of the paper), and cure it. Then seal up whatever end you don't want to use, make sure there's no leaks, create your aquarium, seal up the other end and bammmmmmmm. 💜 There's a kit you can get too with a similar concept. Your acrygel would probably work exactly the same too.

Kirsty my love, so I don't know if you guys have seen where you are a product called dashing divas semi-cure gel polish stickers. And that's exactly what they are they are nail stickers to put a solid color or design made of gel that is semi-cured you fit it to the nail you file off the excess or cut it off and then you cure it. My question for you is is it possible to make those yourself?
