This music started to open a shining gate in the wall. It had a keyhole requiring a silver key. Many people have wandered in his dream worlds since he passed away of stomach cancer. They were that infectious. They captured the imagination of other dreamers throughout the whole previous century. H.P. Lovecraft was one of the most amazing writers to ever come out of North America. It is sad the way he died without ever knowing how big his fanbase would become some day. He thought he was a hack and a grown man who could not get a day job. He never had anybody tell him just how brilliant his work was and how it would make a unique contribution to literature in the United States. Some of the stories he didn't even bother to copyright have made others hundreds of millions of dollars from films, movies and series. Half the horror movies ever made borrow heavily from his influence.

True! I really feel sad for ol' H.P. and the life he led 😢 But I'm glad his eldritch legacy still lives on in a lot of media. Bloodborne is one of those. He has a great imagination! 💖

If you enjoy Lovecraft, you should read The King in Yellow (or listen to). It predates Lovecraft and heavily influenced his works. It's a set of stories which take place in a fictional play, of which if you read or watch [the play] you go mad. It's written by Robert W Chambers. There's a number of different versions, but I know there's one edition with a forward by HPL, and the Heathen Edition is widely acclaimed

If the coin falls one way, I sacrifice myself and thus restore the Pillars... but as the last surviving vampire in Nosgoth, this would mean the annihilation of our species... Moebius made sure of that. If the coin lands on the reverse, I refuse the sacrifice and thus doom the Pillars to an eternity of collapse. Either way, the game is rigged. Raziel: We agree then that the Pillars are crucial and must be restored. Kain: Yes, Raziel, that is why we've come full-circle to this place. Raziel: So after all this, you make my case for me. To end this stalemate, you must die so that new Guardians can be born. Kain: The Pillars don't belong to them, Raziel... they belong to us. Raziel: Your arrogance is boundless, Kain. Kain: There's a third option, a monumental secret hidden in your very presence here. But it's a secret you have to discover for yourself. Unearth your destiny, Raziel. It's all laid out for you here. Raziel: You said it yourself, Kain... there are only two sides to your coin. Kain: Apparently so, but suppose you throw a coin enough times... suppose one day, it lands on its edge. The "coin landing on it's edge" struck me so deep at the time I first played this series and sealed the deal as the best game series I ever played. I wasn't aware of the Lovecraftian symbolism because I wasn't aware of Lovecraft. I was just a simple gamer kid at the time awestruck by the sheer awesomeness of these games and the story behind them. Someone told me they looked at the drawings inspired by Lovecraftian creatures. without feeling terror, at the most disgust. They don't get the concept. If I see a tiger in a photograph, it stimulates me charm, but if I were to come face to face, I would be terrified. Now just imagine the same. It's something worse than a tiger. You know tigers are living creatures of bone and flesh. They can attack and eat you but they are animals having their place in the ecosystem. If the great old ones, elder gods, demons etc exist then everything you believed was wrong, the world's order is different than you thought and there is no hope because the humanity as a whole is a plaything at their mercy. And you cannot do anything about it, just like an ant cannot win against a child with a magnifying glass.

SNIPED TO MY BEDROOM, SHIMMING, WHERE READ AND READ IT AGAIN. CRIED AND LAUGHED AND SHIMED WITH THE TERROR THAT STILL SEAMS ME AT TIMES. THIS IS WHAT TROUBLES ME FOR CANNOT FORGET CARCOSA WHERE BLACK STARS HANG IN THE SKY WHERE THE SHADOWS OF PEOPLE'S THOUGHTS EXTEND IN THE AFTERNOON WHEN THE TWIN SUNS SET INTO LAKE HALI AND MY THOUGHTS BEAR IT FOREVER THE MEMORY OF THE PALE MASK.

My thought is THAT is the closest thing to a Shoggoth I have ever seen! (Needs a few more mouths though...) 😀

Just stumbled upon your chanel, and this is great...no, EXCELLENT content, well done And also, the name iron cthulhu combined with the ambient music make me think of some great old machine built before time by a long dead civilization, a machine the size of skyscrapers hiding beneath the sea in all it's mechanical glory, with a face that lacks eyes or mouth, and with long rusted tendrils that span miles in length. It makes me think of something dead, mechanical, and lifeless, and i like it.

Olhos por todo o meu coração. É assim que eu enxergo tudo e todos a minha volta por muitos dias e tempos a minha frente e costa. Magnífico.

Hermaeus Mora, is that you? Can I come back to Apocrypha now? I promise to reurn the books on time.
