You happily skip to your room, delicately placing Halo 2 into your Xbox, that logo shows up with the familiar menu, you hear that choir come to life as you load your last save, the warthog ride through New Mombassa, you’re cornered by that scarab that’s been pursuing you since the beginning of the level. The Sargent looks to you and tells you to take care of it, you don’t know how you can take on something that size, but then you hear it…the beat of the drum and the rip of the guitar in your ears. A spike of excitement goes up your spine, suddenly you don’t care how you’re taking down the scarab, you just know you will.

Feels so weird. I get to play Halo Infinite Flighting in a few hours, all these memories of Halo are flooding into my head, Infinite is the first Halo that i was old enough to get hyped for, from the beginning, I’ve played the series my entire life, 11 years ago, when i was 4. Since 2018, I’ve been interested in Halo Infinite, skeptical, but excited exponentially, they seem to be taking it in a direction that i enjoy, I’ll update this comment later on, to tell you if my thoughts have changed, or, to tell you if Halo is back.

Damn thats the thing about the kraken fight in halo 5. They tried so hard to be like the halo 2 scarab fight but they just didn’t quite nail it. The scarab looked beatable.
