When a berzerk Brute charges you, jump forwards and over him to avoid him. You can also stick him as he passes under you if you have a Plasma Grenade, but jumping back and away doesn’t work so well, which is a bit counter-intuitive.

Man, Truth's voice was way better in Halo 2 than it was in 3. In 2, he actually sounds like this manipulative, calm, reserved, scheming bastard. In 3, he's a raving psychopath who's smoked about a dozen cigarettes in one go. Wish they kept his character more consistent in between games, but I think that can go for the tone of the game altogether, as well. I feel like 2 was the peak writing/tone of the series, it takes itself just seriously enough whereas as I feel like 3 started to ham things up a bit (see Keyes: "to war"). Halo 2's campaign will always be my favourite of the entire series, even if the ending got bungled.

I really dont like anything about Halo 3. I get why everyone says it's the best and the greatest in the entire franchise but I simply dont feel that way about any of it. People praise its gameplay when to me it's the most boring and monotonous. It's the best in terms of scenery and levels but I feel like every level is just something someone threw together in forge. And the story is super underdeveloped with very little character. Chief feels like an empty suit of armor in 3 unlike in Halo 2. This is all my opinion, but I just dont see why anyone thinks or feels like Halo 2 isnt better than 3.

I love this mission, even though it's hard af on Legendary. Struggling to save like 4-5 Marines and then arming them all with Beam Rifles is just the best. They never miss, they never run out of ammo and from then on it's glorious. They basically kill everything themselves. I have to say, I like this more than your "no deaths" runs because you seem happier and so it's more enjoyable to watch. Keep 'em coming Act Man :)

@23:25 The reason they fall like that is due to height limit. When get to the top level, it spawns the area you are going to. If you drop back down to the level you came from, it despawns, killing all the enemies coming down the lift. It works every time too. Drop back down as soon as Cortana speaks to say there are hostile reinforcements.

There's a good way to get a carbine with some extra rounds on this mission. After you rescue the marines, swap weapons with the one that picks up the carbine off the ground after he gets out of his cell. The carbine will have something like 128 rounds instead of 72.

Honestly I'm glad you made this because I was having a difficult time getting past this mission it reminded me of how difficult the mission Cortana was in Halo 3 I basically had to speed run that one. I just have to finish Halo 2 and then I will have completed all the campaigns on legendary and I'll have the legend achievement.

I absolutely loved your run of the first game. I always do the same thing, I always have to save every marine or ally where I can! The marines can follow you to the end as long as they don't die but they tend to glitch out and just stop in random areas, particularly around the gravity bridge sections.

Having the iron skull on made the videos more suspenseful, but I still enjoyed it. This level is so evil, I'm pretty sure it's classified as the 10th circle of hell, so do whatever you gotta do to not end up in the hospital.

If you ever did circle back and try this no deaths I’d recommend playing the beginning part differently. There’s an upper ledge on both sides of the first room you can jump up to from the little pillar things on the ground. I’d recommend going up there after getting a carbine and needler, then you can take out the grunts and brutes from above. I usually leave one grunt or a berserk brute alive at the end of a wave so I can jump down and get more ammo. I think Hokiebird does his run this way.

That 1st room - get up into the tiered seats as soon as poss & fight from there, as there is more cover, controlling each wave as the next wave won't start until you kill [normally...] the last enemy in the previous wave. So get the wave down to a grunt, and hop back down and scavenge, then hop back up and kill the last grunt & move on...

Your Marines don't stop following you, they can follow you to the end. It's the first hanging gardens area that messes up their AI pathways, and they may walk off the edge.

I won’t forget at the dreaded elevator part down to the area where you rescue the marines that, as you go down the elevator midway you can barely catch the brute there. Well on my way to that hell to land behind the two brutes and kill them “quietly” the brute in the middle of the elevator kills me. Had to get creative and chuck grenades down the elevator before I entered it to kill that midway brute. All on legendary and original halo 2.

Also for fighting tartarus you can get 2 needlers off an elite then jump on the platform where Miranda is and super combine her onto the platform where tartarus is then he will just keep attacking her if you keep your distance
