Anyone else remember going to room 4 and using the energy swords to push the boxes to make a barricade... or when a place was well fortified all the zombies shot off all their pistol ammo so the humans would run out?

How did you get the green team to spawn with just swords and the humans to have magnums? Was there a game mode setting because other halos make both teams on even standards. I wish I got the chance to play this game it looks so fun and classic. I make hundred of infection maps on halo reach similar to this though it's really fun

Late response but in these games everyone spawned with a pistol and sword. You had to play by the rules of green team can only use swords and when a member of red team got killed by a sword they had to switch to green team.

I don't remember much because I was a kid but I think people would have Lan parties and go on bigger maps, and the humans had all their guns and then they would choose a zombie and the chosen zombie could only melee with the guns he had. I'm going on a rim here, I barely remember what it said, but that's what I can recall. Maybe the site wasn't even explaining it just giving ideas for some fun party modes for CE. I was to dumb to care, I was just some kid reading about halo on the internet

Ok If they do make a halo 2 anniversary (which they probably won't) they need to keep almost everything the same. Same menu layout, same music, same enemy behavior, and none of the reach/4 armor unlock system. Halo 3 had the right idea, where even doing things in the campaign could unlock armor.

fancysnake1 yea i would rather have a reskin as the same game. with all maps then a remake in halo4 engine that feels NOTHING like halo2 with 5 maps in total. And 3 playable maps for comp play. At least we still got the classic halo aswell. But maybe if they just did what they did to halo2s campaign to the multiplayer and skipped every other game mcc would have worked.

uh what? Infection wasn't a matchmaking game type in halo 2.... We had to make custom games and everyone would send their friends invites and such. Leading to a great community and an actual need to use your mic if you wanted to get more out of the game(I feel the same way about glitches, super bounces getting out of the map etc). I guess this is still relevant but I don't get what you mean by "was created under microsoft's game content usage rules"... we made these game types and had them saved on our consoles. along with several others too. Not sure why you're calling it infection when literally everyone referred to it as zombies. don't think I heard it called infection once.

No, I don't mean the game type itself. I mean the actual video. I monetized this video, and awhile back, I saw some big KZbinr who wrote that in their video. I wrote that for copyright purposes, although I doubt it really matters. I stopped writing it in every Halo video I post because it doesn't actually matter. I just put it there for that reason. I also titled it with "Infection" because the game type infection became so popular in Halo 3 and Reach that some people might want to see what it used to be, so I put zombies in parenthesis. Hope that clears any confusion up! :D

Those were the golden days of Xbox live man. I remember always having the warthog in a room with 2 or 3 people backed up on the wall and zombies just zooming in and getting mowed down until they picked us apart. I knew people on Xbox live for at least 5 or 6 years, and that was just common on most of the xbox games at the time. Fatboy in halo 3 was a great one too.

seth oxley I think this game-type is a modification of Slayer. Rounds are infinite. There are no score limits. And players spawn with Energy Swords. The Zombies have one player at the start, and the survivors have the rest. Whenever a survivor is killed by a Zombie, he has to change teams to the Zombies. This goes on until there are no survivors left. Then the round us manually ended.

It's just swat. You put on Team Swat and you have to respectfully hope the people you are playing with will abide by the rules and switch teams if they die by the Green team. But let's throw this into the loop. It could be done on Halo Infinite right now, but the current 'players' lack both imagination and will to play "Infection" (it hasn't been popular in almost a decade now). - Team Swat variant - Two teams; One Any color, the other Green (In this case, we only have Eagle & Cobra in Infinite) - Starting weapons: Magnum Primary, Sword Secondary - Map pickup as Rifles in classic games, Infinite is up to you if you want map/sandbox pickups Rules: "Humans" are the normal color team / "Red" "Zombies"/Infected are "Green" Human's can only use Human weapons on map (Magnum, shotguns, etc) Zombies can only use the Sword loadout That's it. If you die as a Human, you have to select "Change team" and choose "green" and abide by the rules. Once more; this was possible in each Halo game, including Halo Infinite. Like everything variation of play in Halo CE, 2 and 3, it has been "available" if you create it yourself in Halo Infinite (Since most of everything is based after a slayer variant anyway). The problem is that we have dumb people in the Halo Community and a bunch of people who unwillingly want to play "custom games", let alone 'this" as a primary focus in Halo. Back in 2005, this was a fun "I'm stoned/drunk" game. It wasn't something you played Halo for, especially Halo 2. Halo 2 and 3's primary "focus" for most players was it's matchmaking...something that 343 has taken for granted time and time again by trying to make it "as non-competitive as possible" since.
