I remember playing Halo 3 ODST during a rainy night, when I should've been in bed and having a unforgettable experience. From roaming the streets of New Mombasa while it played jazz, to fighting on a skyscraper while a banger of a soundtrack played, to finally the climatic fight to leave the city. Halo 3 ODST is and will forever be a masterpiece in my eyes.

They owned Bungie up until Bungie declared independence, which happened around the time Reach released and was why Bungie stopped making Halo games because MS still owned the rights. MS was why Halo had DLC map packs in the first place, because Bungie had zero interest in releasing things like that.

15 years WOW, I feel old... I remember buying this at a black Friday back in 09. It was my first Halo game that I owned. When I think of Halo, I always think of Reach or 3. But in reality ODST is my bread and butter that made me a fan of Halo. I thank all those Spartans who I met and played along the journey, it's been a pleasure. Give them hell Spartans!

It was a rainy night couple years back during peek covid. I was alone with no one. I ended up trying to run all the halo games. Realized that I never played ODST, so I decieded to boot it up. I played through that whole campaign in one night and as the game ended the sun had risen. Probably one the most life changing games I've ever played. The ambiance alone was enough to bring me confort as at the time I had felt alone with nothing but my thought to keep me company. Such an underated game imo.

@@josueidk21 Low quality? I would not say so. Somebody had to 3D model and create the materials for that helmet. Using video applied to a 3D mesh to not only emit light but also reflect off the visor of the helmet was a simple yet smart choice. For a short anniversary video, it is pretty good. If you were expecting more, then you have not learned that 343 will keep on underdelivering. I am surprised they even bothered to make this.

ODST was the one that got me into HALO. Walking about in those environments with its creepy, distopian feel. Perfect musical score. Accessing system downloads in game. Great mix of intense battles and working through the environments totally alone. The best!

Just my opinion: this is the best halo game of them all. The setting, the ambience, the music, the characters. But what really sells it: the fact that you are a normal human soldier (albeit, the best of the best of them) facing towering alien monsters. For the first time, you truly have that feeling of vulnerability. You know while playing the game that master chief is out there saving the galaxy, but you are doing your duty as support for him.

With all the issues I have with the recent halo titles of the last 10 years, I will say that the amount of respect 343i shows the franchise is very palpable. And I've been replaying the franchise lately in chronological order starting with Reach, CE, and now halfway through 2, I miss how great Halo was and how it felt to immerse myself in it's world. It's really nice having MCC to allow me to do that with ease and convenience.
